About the shot:

A fast speed (1/250) for my 18mm wide lens was selected to capture the boats and the reflections still.
To achieve this, I increased the ISO to 200. I might have the same result with 1/100 and ISO 100, but I didn't risk it.

You'll probably think that this is a morning shot. Well I'd be glad if you think that cause I wanted to make it look like it.
The time that this picture taken was 19:35 where everything is dressed in yellow afternoon sun.

A small secret named White Balance, made the yellow to look white.
White Balance adjust the levels of white.
Colder colours may look more realistic and the white colour might look original enough, although, warm colours are more attractive.
However I like and use both cases.

Here is my list of actions:

- White Balance shifted to cold
- Exposure / Contrast minor adjustments
- Saturation Increased
- Frame added
- Title added
- JPEG optimized for TE use!

love the composition here and how the white boats form the strong diagonal line, for some reason I find almost all shots where such strong line is present to be very harmonous, especially when it connets with another strong line - in your shot here, the shoreline. I also like how that one boat is a bit detached, it makes the scene more lively. as to the colours - well, what can I say, crisp and vivid, as in all your shots. again, thanks for the note :)

Great shot, with some amazing colour! I like the line of boats in the foreground, which tend to lead us right into the frame. Well done!

Εξαιρετική η σύνθσεση σου Στέλιο, με τα υπέροχα χρώματα αλλά και το πολύ καλό καντράρισμα με την τέλεια ισορροπία των όγκων, να κλέβει την παράσταση.
Εξαιρετική η τοποθέτηση μέσα στο κάντρο σου η γραμμή με τις βάρκες κατευθύνει την προσοχή στο κυρίως θέμα σου.

Πραγματι η τοποθετηση της σειρας με τις βαρκες μεσα στο καδρο σου δειχνει ποσο προσεκτικος εισαι στην δουλεια σου.Εκληπτικη αναπαρασταση της ατμοσφαιρας στην παραλια της πανεμορφης πολης.

A quite technically detailed image in your comment !!! Superb photograph once more here, I like much the limpidity of the image and these marvellous colors. Στέλιο καλησπέρα,
να λοιπόν που το απόγευμα έγινε πρωί με την έξυπνη χρήση του White Balance.Μου αρέσει πολύ ή γωνία λήψης,η οποία δημιουργεί αυτό το εξαιρετικό βάθος πεδίου και φυσικά οι αντανακλάσεις του ξενοδοχείου στο νερό.Παρά το προχωρημένο της ώρας οι λεπτομέρειες της φωτογραφίας σου είναι ότι καλύτερο έχω δεί.Απ' ότι βλέπω, χρησιμοποίησες για Metering Mode,το Average και από το αποτέλεσμα φαίνεται ότι δούλεψε πολύ καλά.Εγώ πάλι δεν το έχω χρησιμοποίσει ποτέ.

Αν και δεν μου αρέσει η έντονη επεξεργασία, καταφέρνεις να πείθεις για την "παραγωγή" σου, Στέλιο, και αυτό είναι ένα από τα προσόντα σου. Μέσα από την λαμπερή εικόνα, εγώ οδηγούμαι ψηλά στο κάστρο, στην φυλακή του Κολοκοτρώνη και νοητά στο ιστορικό παρελθόν της πρώτης πρωτεύουσας της Ελλάδας. Δεν με μαγεύουν τα σύγχρονα κτίρια των πόλεων. Απλά τα ανέχομαι. Με μαγεύουν, όμως οι βαρκούλες στο νερό και τα σπίτια με κεραμοσκεπή.
Μπράβο για τον κόπο σου,

Άλλη μια εξαιρετική λήψη από το αγαπημένο Ναύπλιο...

Eκτός από τις εξαιρετικές φωτογραφίες σου, τα συνοδευτικά notes είναι επίσης εξαιρετικά.

Σχετικά με το post-processing, ενώ δεν συμφωνούσα γενικά με αυτό, με έχεις ήδη πείσει για τη χρησιμότητά του :-)

Hi Stelios, your gallery has turned into a gem as far as i'm browsing its ! This is truely a great job as a photographer you do, you handle the photographic process from the start to the end in an excellent way, this is really effective on my eyes and powerfull. I love those pictures that have a summer taste, hhmm for sure i will visit greek coast one day :)

Οπτικά όμορφη αλλά πασχίζω να ξεχωρίσω το πρωτεύων θέμα. Με τραβάνε τα σύννεφα, ύστερα το κίτρινο κτίριο και τέλος τα βαρκάκια. Θα έπρεπε να ήταν αντίστροφα, νομίζω.

Εξαιρετικη συνθεση Στελιο.
Εκπληκτικα καθαρη εικονα απο καλη γωνια ληψης.πανεμορφα χρωματα.
Οπως ειπες και συ το Ναυπλιο ειναι καθε βημα και φωτογραφια. Σ'ευχαριστω για τα καλα σου λογια στην "επίθεση" σου στις Ναυπλιωτικες φωτογραφιες μου, οι οποιες ομως φαινονται λιγο "φτωχες" απο τεχνικη αποψη κυριως.

It's interesting to read about you cooling the WB. It's something I play with a lot in ACR and am never sure if I made the right choice as I like both warm and cold colours too. The clouds are a bit blue; is that to do with the WB or the saturation? I picked this one out for the stunning reflections; a favourite element of mine in a scene, real or photographed. The light on the water is incredible and together with the reflections there is a kind of translucent sheen that is very attractive. Compositionally you couldn't have those boats lined up any better if you had got in the water and arranged them yourself. They make an excellent diagonal to the harbour's edge. You surely do live in a beautiful part of the world.
