Nafplio Harbor II Photo

Photographer’s Note

I think I should name Nafplio Airport, instead of Nafplio harbor since both of my pictures look like an airplane runway ready to take off! :)

However this is almost the same picture as the previous one different hour.

About the shot:

I was lazy and tired to set up a tripod and use a long exposure, so I preferred take this one handheld.
I'm sorry for my missing EXIF data I don't know why it didn't came with the JPEG image.
I remember the settings though, Manual Program: widest Aperture, 1/60 (minimum handheld steady speed) at 18mm focal range, and to do all that I increased the ISO to 400, which is RAW noiseless as you can see, without missing any details while my scene could remain sharp.

RAW Post Processing notes:

- White balance set to warm
- Rectangle selection over sky
- Clarification over sky
- Point to point selection over sea water
- Contrast enhancement over sea water
- Saturation increased
- Frame added
- Title added

Hi Stelios,
A minus point for not setting up the tripod...lazyness is not a real photographer works ;-)
Here in the small version sharpness looks very good, on the large size i think you loose some by using only 3.5.
Your wide perspective and the light in the far background over the hills is something i like a lot. A nice warm glow which suits the picture well.

You loose EXIF when you choose the option "Save for the Web" in Photoshop.

you are right, it looks like an airport from this pov stelio... the colour palette of the sunset is amazing again, more natural this time... and the light management is top notch... you could have cropped the half couple on the very right but this is still an amazing composition...

Πολύ καλή φωτογραφία από όλες τις απόψεις. Η ευκρίνεια είναι άψογη, τα χρώματα πανέμορφα το βάθος πεδίου καταπληκτικό και το σημείο λήψης ιδανικό. Σε καθοδηγεί στο Μπούρτζι μέσω του "διαδρόμου προσγείωσης".

such an interesting harbor.the image is so neat that it is not really significant it lacks a tripod really. what a fascinating seaside, it looks as if the sea was covered by locals to create a walking road. It must be fun to enjoy the island view at sunset

Even without a tripod this is very remarkable picture with a nice light and the right exposure.

You're right about the details in your picture Stelios, it's perfectly sharp and noiseless. I like a lot that amazing sky, that I'm beggining to think you can only find in Greece. :)

Πάλι έρχομαι να αναφέρω ίδια φωτογραφία σε διαφορετική ώρα. Προτιμώ το προηγούμενο καδράρισμα σε αυτή την ώρα της ημέρας. Χώρια που εδώ γέρνεις. Εδώ θέλεις τη γραμμή κάθετη με τον ορίζοντα. Πέτυχες το ένα από τα δυο.

Γεια σου Στέλιο, γενικότερα όλες οι φωτογραφίες σου από το Ναύπλιο είναι εξαιρετικές αποδίδοντα κάθε μία κάτι ξεχωριστό. Εδώ τα χρώματα είναι καταπληκτικά και σε συνδυασμό με τα σχήματα στην πλατφόρμα του λιμανιού και το Μπουρτζι στο βάθος δημιουργούν ένα μοναδικό αποτέλεσμα. Σε χαιρετώ,
