Window with View, a photo from Messinia, Peloponnesus

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken from the Castle of Kyparissia, as i was walking and exploring the highest point of the castle.
The city below as you can see from the opening is Kyparissia.

Kyparissia is a town of more than 5.500 people located in western Messinia, 67km away from Kalamata. The Castle is located at the highest point of the city.

A few notes for the shot.

I knew i had to carry with me a tripod, because of the time, although the light was ideal for this capture. I didn't use a flash in order to capture this high contrast and smooth light on the stones.

Στέλιο γειά σου και καλωσήρθες στο ΤΕ!Πρωτότυπη και εντυπωσιακή σύνθεση,η φυσική κορνίζα της πολεμίστρας? άψογη,όπως και η μη χρησιμοποίηση φλάς δίνοντας έτσι ένα "απόκοσμο" και ατμοσφαιρικό φωτιστικό αποτέλεσμα και μια υπέροχη θέα στα χρώματα της μέρας που φεύγει.Συγχαρητήρια!

Hi Stelios, this is a piece of art this one, your compo is crazy good with the inclusion in foreground of this rock cavern.
Settings are excellent and time of shoot was the right one at end of blue hour.
A marvelous shot that i had in a theme :)

Very well done with soft light. You have controlled the light very well so as to get some exposure of the cave.

Oh yes! I was there at this same 'window', but at a different part of the day - it obviously looks even better at night. I love the framing in the photo, and the perfect exposure; the gradient colours in the background are wonderful!

Ωραία χρώματα, καθώς και η ώρα που το τράβηξες. Δε μου αρέσει το "πλαίσιο μέσα στο πλαίσιο", το frame in frame, αλλά και πάλι δεν μπορώ να σου προτείνω κάτι άλλο, ίσως θα ήταν καλύτερα να μη βάλεις πλαίσιο καθόλου, δεν ξέρω. Ο ορίζοντας πάλι γέρνει ανεπαίσθητα.

Έρχομαι στην θέση των "Γιγάντων" που έκτισαν το κάστρο της Αρκαδιάς και αγναντεύω τον σύγχρονο κόσμο! Όμορφη ατμόσφαιρα, χρώματα και κάδρο.
Δεν υπάρχει πιο ωραία αίσθηση από αυτή που νοιώθεις όταν περπατάς τέτοια ώρα σε τόπο που σε συνδέει με το μακρινό παρελθόν. Μέσα από την φωτογραφία, αυτή η αίσθηση αποκτά διάρκεια. Εδώ βέβαια διαδίδεται και σε άλλους. Αν νοιώσουν το βάθος της αίσθησης αυτής ξεφεύγουν από τα τετριμμένα της ψυχρής ανταπόδοσης βαθμών. «Ελεύθερον το εύψυχον»

Πιθανολογώ μόνο πως θα μπορούσες να αποφύγεις τα πολλά-πολλά τοιχώματα του σπηλαίου. Να φαίνεται μεν ο θόλος, αλλά να ανοίξει πιο πολύ το πλάνο στον κόλπο. Ωραία τα χρώματα του δειλινού, η φωτογραφία σε ηρεμεί...

Στέλιο καλησπέρα,
υπέροχο φυσικό κάδρο με θέα τον κόλπο της Κυπαρισσίας αυτήν την υπέροχη ώρα της ημέρας.Το καλά φωτισμένο άνοιγμα του κάστρου,δίνει μι αδυναμική σε όλη ττην φωτογραφία.
