Photographer’s Note
Hi all,
After three magnificent days in Athens, from 30-07 till 01-08-07, it was time for us to move on..
Our destination was one of the Cyclades; Paros, second in size after Naxos. Paros would be the start of what we have called our "Tour des Cyclades". Our flight went early in the morning on 2nd of August..and we have to thank our friend Aimilios for bringing us to the airport that early! He and his family have shown us what Greek hospitality is..we encountered this degree of hospitality for the first time..although we have heared before about the high standards in hospitality in Greece! And ofcourse we stayed in Greece 3 years in a row, before this year. But we had not encountered this amount of hospitality before!
Aimilios, thanks a lot!
After arrival early in the morning, at the apartment, after unpacking we catched some hours of sleep..just to awake in the afternoon. We already hired a scooter at arrival..so after waking up..we drove to one of the edges of the island too see the sun set in the sea..it was a nice sunset, I'll save you the photo's ;)
Nearby the place where we viewed this sunset..there was a church. According to my map it is called Akr. Agios Fokas and it is close to (Par.) Krios
After capturing the fullest of the sun setting..we decided to explore this little church. It had a nice interior..and this is the exterior.
I kinda liked the church..hope you do so too!

Kalimera Emiel! :)
Glad to be the first to comment on your pic! ;)
Nice contrast ( i have realised the difference without) and composition with the church's upper part against the clear, light blue sky.

Rene

Hi Emiel,
a typically Greek postcard subject - in an unusual light (even though I think the "blue hour" is something special in this area itself. So, you caught TWO symbols of the Aeagean: the nice little white churches and the blue hour! Great!

Hallo Emiel,
Dit kan voor mij alleen maar Griekenland zijn. Het witte pleisterwerk van een mooi idillisch kerkje prachtig afstekend tegen een strak blauwe lucht en hier dan nog die mooie diepblauwe koepel als bonus.

Hello Emiel,
Nice the view of this deep blue dome and the facade with the bell tower as foreground. These elements have a lot of sharpness and clarity. The colours and the light are well capture. What about the sky? The colour of the sky is washy and it deserves to be a better and floodlight.

Hi Emiel!
I can say now, after having seen your last posts that your trip was not just pleasant, but also constructive! This one is a very representative and very beautiful Greek photo. The POV, the perspective and the composition are great. I just wish there was a darkes sky, but weather isn't always on our side.

Hi Emiel!
Great photo of a very classical Greek subject. I like the evening colour tones here, which make this photo look very atmospheric. POV and framing are also very well chosen.
Regards
Andreas
