Panorama Xoras, a photo from Kyklades, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

Hello friends,
an other photo of city of Naxos,the result of two stitched captures,this time without the Portara,see the previous photo.In order to capture,
a: waited until the sunset to be litted up the last houses of Xora,the name of capit,al of Naxos and
b:walked about 60-70 metres front from the Portara so that I did not have an obstacle in front of me.
I believe you like it.

άλλη μία φωτογραφία της πόλης της Νάξου,το αποτέλεσμα από δύο φωτογραφίες,αυτή την φορά χωρίς την Πορτάρα,δείτε την προηγούμενη φωτογραφία.Για να την τραβήξω,
α: περίμενα μέχρι ο ήλιος να δύσει τόσο όσο να φωτίζονται τα τελευταία σπίτια της Χώρας,το όνομα της πρωτεύουσας της Νάξου και
β: περπάτησα περίπου 60-70 μέτρα εμπρός από την Πορτάρα ούτως ώστε να μην έχω κανένα εμπόδιο εμπρός μου.

Hi Danos,
The last one was really great, but this one explores better the fabulous view of the town. You used the curve of the port very wisely on the compo, my eyes have a nice time walking all over the image. Maybe I would prefer it brighter and with more contrast, but that's a matter of personal taste and the light surely didn't help on that, although those sunset tones are very nice.
It is asking for a large version.

this is really inpressive dano... in been to naxos just for 10 minutes on the way from mykonos to santorini and decided to visit this island one day... the kastro looks great from your pov here... well done...

You have achieved to take such a beautiful example of picture well created and seen:
You have centered your attention in my opinion where you had to, closing the pov, but leaving enough sky and see to create such a awesome view, along with a interesting dawn light.

It is so beatiful to me to see your letters in greek, my favourite matter in school! Good memories!

Hi Danos,
Perfect stitch of two photos, which gives a great result in this panoramic sight of this beautiful and white city.
The lighting is splendid, is soft and creates a good balance between the illuminated zones and the zones in shade. The contrast of the white color with the darkest but soft tones of the sea and of the sky with the clouds, they have a great aesthetic strenght. I like it, is a fine work.

Yes, Danos, this view is so pretty that deserves this second post, with a panoramic version and no obstacles in front of it. A Large Version would be perfect here, I think. You did a good job with the composition and those beautiful last rays of sunlight bathing the last houses of Xora.

Hello Danos,

A first rate panoramic capture of Naxos. Indeed, it is so much better to provide the expansive horizontal view here. The subdued light, with the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds makes this a memorable shot.

A true Aegean town with white box houses on steep hills! You placing resulted a really comprehensive townscape, every tiny detail is visible. Placing of the bunch of clouds at the center, where the two hills at the background make an extremum, is a nice idea. TFS :)

The cream and white tones of the houses are prefect for reflecting the pink tones of the setting sun. The darkness here conveys the mood of a sleepy town. It does depend on the mood you want to create but some added brightness and maybe an slight increase of saturation would convey a different mood again. The pano format works very well and the view from the portal afforded you the perfect vantage point.

Δάνο, όπως το λέει και ο τίτλος σου είναι ενα Πανόραμα!Δεν ξέρω αν είναι το σημείο λήψης, η κυκλαδίτικη αρχιτεκτονική, η περίφημη αυτή ωρα της ημέρας πρίν να σβήσει ο ήλιος, ο γαλανός ουρανός!
Τό αποτέλεσμα είναι ότι όλη η ομορφιά βρίσκεται στην απλότητα και στήν απλοχεριά του Θεού στα νησιά μας!
Καλά να περνάς όπυ και νάσαι!
