Olimpieion
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Olimpieion is the temple of Zeus in Athens. It was one of the largest temples in the ancient world (107 x 41m). Its erection began as early as in the 6th century BC,but it was only finished 132 AC by the roman emperor Hadrian.
Nowadays, 15 corynthian columns remain, on the 84 original ones. One of them collapsed in the XIXth century because of a strong storm, and remains lying.
In the back you can see the hill Lycabette. The legend says that this is a stone that Athena left falling as she was building the Acropolis. it is nowadays topped with a othodox church and offers a very intersting view over the whole city of Athens. |

Good composition with the hill framed by the columns and the cloud. The low pov works well. Exposure is also fine holding detail on highlights. There is a spot of dust close to the left edge. Regards,
Hakan
