Photographer’s Note

This is a photo from Mesolonghi, from the lagoon of Mesolonghi, to be more precise. Mesolonghi is a very important town, with a great history. It is the only town of Greece, declared "Hiera Polis" (Sacred town)because of the heroic fight of its inhabitants during the years of the Greek strugle for Indipendance agains the Ottoman Empire (more about it in the very near future).
The lagoon of Mesolonghi is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have seen in my country. Lots of fish there, but also some fine fisherman's stilt huts, called "Peladas", like the one in the photo.In the next few days I will upload a small "serie" from the same place.

Such a nice heavenly feel to this scene with these structures penetrating into and perched within these graduated blues and that pin sharp reflection - the distant mountains add to the atmosphere beautifully........peace......tranquility.......time.......

Hi Hercules,
This view smelled the 10-22 from the vignette ;-)
It's very well composed with this introducing small pier and the time of the day is right too to provide good oblique light that lightens well the house and its reflection, the mountain background is also a good plus.

Very nice photo Hercules,

I love the clearity in this shot, superb calm water resulted in a nice reflection of that house on the other side of the water. Good to include this wooden pier in the photo, as it nicely leads the eyes into the photo. Great colours, especially the gentle tone changes on the water. Fine sharpness too. Very well done.

Hercules, les bleus et les reflets sont superbes. J'aime la lumière qui vient caresser le ponton. Le regard part de ce dernier pour arriver à cette maison qui se reflète dans cette eau si calme qu'on dirait un miroir. Je préfère le cadrage du WS.

Al menos que el agua esté muy fría, la verdad es que no sé si aceptaría lo de acceso denegado porque dan ganas de romper el espejo que forma la superficie y sumergirse a nadar. Es una hermosísima foto.

qué imagen tan bonita y con toques surrealistas, parece que la casa y el embarcadero estén flotando sobre el cielo en lugar de sobre el agua.
Gran encuadre y muy buena calidad en la imagen que es muy limpia y donde has trabajado perfectamente con la luz y los reflejos.

I was very lucky to visit your country several times, but I did not get the chance to see Mesolonghi. From your pictures, it clearly appears as an incredibly beautiful and interesting place. Your shot is impressive, with this dynamic and nice composition showing the small cabin isolated in the middle of the deep blue lagoon. I will look carefully to your next posts about the area!

is this ever a beautiful shot! The colours all around are incredible, and the contrast between the warm sunlit areas and the cold blue shadows is great. Perfect positioning for the reflection too, as it is matched by the shoreline.

I love your picture, the tranquility of the lake, that's amazing! Sharpness is very good!
However I can't decide wether I like the title or not ;) "Access denied" seems really appropriate particularly well-found for the picture but it has a "technological" something that does not fit with the quiet picture of nature ;)
Anyway, very beautiful picture!

Fantastic photograph of the Lake Mesolonghi. How is it possible that it is not there the smallest breath of wind and that water either calms at this point? The composition in height is really well with this slow colour gradation of the water which goes from very clear blue to the black.
