Photographer’s Note

Merry Christmas to everyone! :)

These holy days, some (or maybe more) of us want to be more close, near to God. This shot is dedicated to all of them...

About the photo. It's a detailed shot from the church of Agia Marina. This church is located behind my home in Chalkis.

The sky was clear blue and I wanted to test my new Sigma 105mm macro lens.

I'm waiting your comments/critiques/suggestions. Feel free to express your self. :)

Because it's the last image I upload this year, I want to wish to everyone of you HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007 with health, hapiness and personal success!

Lovely shot Mpampis, Great architecture!
Sharpness and details, aswell as the colours are very fine, I especially like the details and exposure in the middleof the shot, nice light there on the edges.
Well polarized sky, interesting building.
The lens did a fine job I think, I hope your happy with it, and have a good 2007!

Hi Mpampis,
Very nice image, the crop you chose made it more abstract thus unusual and interesting. Very good colors (did you use a polarizer to get such a sky?) and impressive detail. The shadow of the Cross in the center bottom creates a nice contrast with the one at the top, thus making a strong point serving well your note. Your Sigma is definitely a keeper, enjoy it and have fun!

That lens looks good! :o)
It's an excellent compo and like Philip, I especially like the shadow of the cross, perfectly centered on the wall. The tight framing is a good idea and you visibly had an excellent light that day.

Great colors and and interesting use of shadows. The shadow of the cross really adds something to the picture and I honestly don't know what you could improve about this capture.

Le test de l'objectif, Mpampis, est réussi comme la photo d'ailleurs. J'aime les lignes dessinées par cette architecture byzantine avec de belles couleurs sur un ciel des plus bleus.

Nice detail of this grand building Mpampis. Good choice for pov and interesting with the detail of the shaded cross as a contrast to the one at top.
