Photographer’s Note

Pictured here is a bay located in the very north of the island Kythera, not far from the northest point where a lighthouse overlooks the coastline. The bay is named after the Saint Agios Nikolaos also due to a small church built not far from the beach.
The position of the bay, which can be reached only through a 3 km long dirt road, grants lovely peace and tranquillity to the place.

Strangely enough this shot remebers me so much from Brittany. the lighthouse, the cliffs, the vegetation and the colours all around. Well done.

I like the solitary lighthouse on the headland even though it is only a small part of the total image. The 's' shape leads the eye nicely around the image & the cyan color of the water is superb.

Hi, Danield. Good depth in this picture thanks to the flowers in the foreground and the island that we can see only faintly in the background. Good use of the lines to give unity to the picture: the diagonal of the shoreline and the gentle slope going down from the lighthouse.

Yes it looks like a peaceful spot Samuele. The colours are really nice and the lighthouse in the distance adds interest. The sky and water are such pretty shades of blue. I also like the inclusion of the flowering shrub in the front.

mi piace lo scenario, con il cespuglio in primo piano che in parte nasconde la laguna blu... ma e' meglio cosi... che cosa direbbe la gente vedendo Brooke Shields senza costume ;)) Bellissima, ma come ho gia' detto anche intrigante... cio'e'... che cosa si nasconde dietro quel cespuglio... pero dopo l'occhio viaggia verso l'orizzonte dove s'intravede un'altra isola. Bellissimo feeling.

Hello Sam -

A simple but well composed image. I do like the shrub in the foreground - it is a nice element that most travelers would omit from their image. The lighting is the best and adds a nice warm glow to the landscape. I don't know if it is me or my monitor but the large shrub looks a touch out of focus - or is there a slight breeze? Anyway, well done.

Hi Samuele,
A quiet ambience pervades this scene. The flowers nicely frame the foreground, and you took advantage of the soft light. It may be my monitor, but the scene needs a little sharpness boost. A fine capture however with natural tones and hues.

Beautiful curving landscape, which does emit the peaceful ambience you mention in your note. Good depth thanks to the fg bushes, and a nice golden glow.

les couleurs sont fantastiques, bien réchauffées, les lumières suffisantes et pas trop fortes. Tout cela est bien doux et renforce le calme de l'endroit.
Un cadrage qui harmonise bien les éléments.

Buongiorno Samuele, c'est realmente una piccola fine di costruzione bianca che blotti al vertice, non mi so se s`étais il caso, ma attraverso l`image considero una calma ed un silenzio che circonda questo posto con questa floraison che esplode in questi decorazioni minerale, J'aime bene la dinamica di questa curva equilibrata dalla curva in opposizione con quella che forma la striscia di terra che s`enfonce nel mare, bene amicalement
