So, it's not another Lefkada or Kefalonia photo, I did a step back in time. I present you another Zakynthos shot. Again Navagio Beach, just another approach, taken with my Ixus 50 back in august 2005.
Hope you will enjoy this one too!
The drop is really as big as you see it, there are a few people on the beach,
I think they tell you the appropriate scale. The black 'dots' on the white cliffs, is vegetation, it grows there, sometimes it's small, sometimes it get's slightly bigger and is thus more obvious.
Apparently someone else also shared the shipwreck today and offered same info as I did with my other shot. So let's just include a link to the info this time.
[PP involved in CS2]
* Filter : High Pass, 10.0px radius
(Q : was this a good idea to do this at this moment in the PP?
I really don't know, any advise on this would be appreciated)
* Some minor cloning
* Shadow/Highlight both just 1%; 37% radius, 37px. Midtones +13.
* USM 62%, 0.3px, 1 lvl. 'Smart Sharpen' on wreck.
* Added border
And finally I found out how to change fonts (thanks, google) and managed to use the Typing Tool a little better.
I was eating my heart out before, lol!
Please enjoy it as much as I do!

What a great shot! Seems like you were hanging from a cliff when you took this photo. Love the the combination of the blue waters and white sand.
Thanks for sharing.
dmarizz (2796) 2006-11-21 19:02
astonishing POV and colours. I hope you were not obliged to dangerously lean out of the cliff, to capture this picture... Congratulations and thanks for posting. Ciao, Dario.
PS A minor comment on the frame. In my opinion a simpler frame would not cause a risk of distraction from your wonderful shot.

It is indeed a beautiful image...a simple display of mother nature at its best.A stark contrast between the short lifespan of manmade objects as opposed to the almost infinity of nature.I like the perspective...a birds eye view that makes the human presense almost non-descript.I may have avoided including the sea at the top of the image....a bit confusing....and rather concentrated on the lovely lagoon.Very nice and TFS.

manada (6239) 2006-11-24 16:22
What a beautiful place..!
jmcl (14535) 2006-11-25 19:46
Stunning perspective .. it would be disorienting if you hadn't composed this so well .. what a wonderful image.
speaking of disorienting .. I don't know how I ended up where I did in your gallery when I wrote my review yesterday .. I thought I was on the latest image .. hmmm ...
take care .. this is just striking and wonderful.

A really impressive framing pointing down the sandy beach enclosed by the cliff, with the sea on both sides. The shipwreck is an interesting detail. The sea color on the right is surprisingly blue compared to the whiteness of the sand. Good sharpness.
All the best,

a fantastic beach here, it looks absolutely great ! the water looks fantastic and makes me immediately want to be there ! the cliff show the depth and the blue sea in the bg is a good contrast to the bright sea in the front ! well done

Hi Emiel, Top shot in both senses of the word. Terrific POV to get such a spectacular view. The colours are superb. Good clarity to see the swimmers. TFS. Murray.

I like east elevated point of view, the intensity of the colours is excellent, great composition, different and creative, the image divides in several parts, creating a spectacular Vista and of great beauty, good shot!

A very nice beach indeed. I already saw a beautiful picture with brilliant light of this beach on TE that you can see here.
A very nice composition

hi emiel...what a great landscape...such an interesting place with this record of the sea cutting through to the sea beyond...and the ship driven ashore ...and the antlike people - as you say giving us the full and grand scale...a really fantastic view...just amazing!
best wishes Kev

Like everyone did, I also find this photo very atractive and interesting. This naturally protected beach has been a fine "last stop" for this ship wreck. The note is informative, too. TFS.

A great shot indeed! In this picture the bay appears much more wild and natural 'cause of the absence of many boats (like in my own picture)!
danos (90305) 2007-02-21 12:00
great shot from a striking POV.Up to now I had only seen the forward piece of the shipwreck at navagio beach and no at the background.Vivid colours and a unique landscape with broad light.Well done.
colinbrenchley (6431) 2007-05-03 18:24
A shot near to the edge and tight composition draws your attention to the main subject. Close up crop looks good.
desman (2220) 2007-05-13 11:24
Beautiful the colors of this at this point famous subject.
I Believe just that I will go to see it of person.
Your photo has put this wants to me.
crisnique (857) 2007-07-11 13:58
What a great nature shot here!
Superb POV and fantastic colours.
I agree with other members that maybe you could avoid the sea at the top in order to focus more on the main scene, bt this doesn't disturb me that much.
Well done, Cristian

OMG what a dream landscape.... and pretty picture also
mickyg (815) 2007-07-12 11:32
I have a similar capture Emiel as indeed many people have, as the beach is only accessible from the sea this is the best angle from the view point at the side of the road to get the shipwreck in all it's glory, excellent exposure and clarity .. nice work
Yves-triga (5149) 2009-07-24 7:45
