This is the harbour town Frikes, which located on the northern peninsula of Ithaki/Ithaca.
The photo is taken from a pier opposite to this little town, this pier can be used for anchorage of yachts. Also the ferryline anchors there. I took this shot around sunset, the clouds got nice colours and the sky changed every minute (hence the decisive moment).
We we're talking with an older Dutch couple we just met minutes before. As we are Dutch too, it was quite nice to cummunicate in our own language again, ofcourse we did that when together. But okay to meet some other people. They did invite us (me + girlfriend) on their boat, as the we where waiting for the ferryline which was too late. Had a short but nice time.
I didn't care the boat was too late, that's why I still could take a serie of photo's of the changing sky, wouldn't be possible on the moving boat I think.
The ferryline connects Nidri (Lefkada), Frikes (Ithaki), Fiskardo (Kefalonia) and Vassiliki (Lefkada) with each other.
A bit above the village on the right side, but also on the left side, outside of this frame, there is an old ruined tower. Don't know it's history though..I'll try to find it..

I like the way the three clouds go down in size as the get more distant.
I like the way the village is framed between the hills.

Very picturesque photo!
I like the clouds, they seem to be falling into the gorge between two mountains!

Very good seen Emiel.
The mountains on right and on left side and in the middle the nice colors of the sky give a very nice effect.
I like the lightness very much too.
Have a nice weekend.
