Photographer’s Note
Driver’s seat
Displayed here is the interior of a Mercedes 0303, for a long time the main stay of K-Tel, the Greek national bus operator, waiting at the bus station of Volos (Pelion) to bring us to Afissos.
The station is the Pelion transport hub and always delightfully busy. It has an elegant wooden skeleton. In the background are two other O303's.
Driver’s seat isn’t about actually driving and certainly not drivin’a big bus, but while editing this pic the speeded up Motown-esque beat of the song entered my head and is now blaring from the PC speakers writing this note ;-). It’s probably one of the most famous “one hit wonders” . Performed by Sniff ‘n’ The Tears from their 1978 Fickle Heart album, released on Chiswick.
Still a bit of time to post a proper “going away for the holidays pic”, I like my rituals ;-) Well my friends, this is really my last upload before leaving for Afissos on the lovely Greek peninsula of Pelion. Take care
PCS2 tech: cropped, altered the contrast, saturation, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, enhance the edges and luminosity of the surfaces, USM-ed , added a frame and saved for the web.

Dag Bert,
Good daily life picture Bert.

Groet, Henk

Hi Bert
I must this is a typical greek scene cause Greece has many old public buses like this one. I like the atmosphere. Howere, the most of the drives (who are the owners too) of this type of bus, bought new ones and maybe this shot would be probably classic in 5 years from now! :)

Hi Bert,
the driver must be really a mercedes fan. It's nice to see all those stickers and other details on the windscreen... hey, I see also some old picture... maybee the driver while he was serving the country as a soldier...
Have a nice weekend,
Tomi

Hi Bert. This almost looks like it would fit into my current Mercedes-Benz Museum series ... Well worth to step inside the bus and use its windshield as a framing element for the people outside. Colorful and richly detailed; compo-wise I think it could be cropped a bit at the left and the bottom. Enjoy your trip to Greece!

Hi Bert, the tune has been in my head all morning. I never knew who scored the hit of course , but now I know, and I can forget again ;-)
I love the view here through the window to a real bus station, the ones you don’t see in the Netherlands, as our train system is so good of course. There is a mood of traveling, and I like that. Certainly because it’s your last one before moving to Pilion again.
I hope the driver was not serious about that ‘Bud Beer’ though.
Have fun, when will you be back?

Hi Bert,
Wonderful shot. This is a scene that all tourists taking a local bus or on package tour recognize. You have mangaged here to take photo with very good shapness both inside and outside the bus. Excellent use of flash and wide-angle. Many interesting things to look at. Have a nice Sunday!
Cheers,
Ulf

Hi Bert
This picture is not usual I like your pov on the background with many bus in a confusing parking. The light is well managed.
Well done

A good and funny pov (the stickers are interesting). But what I like the most is the outside. It looks like it was a 70's scene : colors, clothes, design... That's really strange : as if the bus was a time machine !!!

Geia sou Bert,
As you, I like the Greek buses and the bus stations even if there is no more so much animation as 20 or 30 years ago. I could then spend the day to look at this immense cinema! The station of Volos is particularly big and important and you made a really brilliant centring. The realization is also good as the idea!
And then the idea to rise in the bus to go to Afissos here is a matter which seduces!
Have a nice day
Diane
