Photographer’s Note
I know that August's moon is more popular than July's, but I believe, Mother Nature is everyday beautiful in spite of months.
This is my first succesful shot of our natural satelite. It's not my best but I found it cute! I took it 10 minutes ago so it's more than fresh! :)
It's a handheld shot, no tripod used. Still a "stable" one I supose. The color of the moon is it's natural color! It was somewhat low on the horizon and yellow!
This is also my first photo in TE using my new Nikkor 70-300mm zoom lens.
I'll be back with August's moon placing my D70 on a tripod :)
Additional infos: I must say that I took about 10 shots, half of them were enough clear for a handheld shot with this low speed. This shot was the clearest!

Hi Mpampis;
Absolutly wonderfull shot of the moon that I was contemplating at aproximately the same time you were taking this picture. That makes me think that it might be thousands of Km. between people but we can all enjoy the same wonders of nature. Well done

Geai sou Mpampi, remarkable what you can do with 300 (450) mm long lens, you captured quite a lot of intresting textural detail on the moon. And you have steady hands indeed shooring it @ 1/30 sec! Nice and well composed work.

So I'll try to take other shots next month.... The moon has been my favourite subject this week, and it seems I succeeded too but with the help of a tripod... You really have a steady hand! What I don't like that much is the writing above the picture, but the moon is so full of details that... I don't care!

Μ'αρέσει πολύ το που τοποθέτησες την Σελήνη, επίσης έχεις πολύ λεπτομέρια πάνω της, πολύ καλό.

I think sharpness is acceptable, framing is great with the photo reading ending on the moon, the black is also a good think here to help it contrast stronger and shine.

Πραγματικά εξαιρετική λήψη με φωτογράφηση χωρίς τρίποδο. Το χρώμα του φεγγαριού και οι λεπτομέρειες είναι θαυμάσια και ο σκοτεινός ουρανός τα αναδεικνύει περισσότερο.

Congratulation - Somehow do the moon always turn out bad for me - I tried several times but never with anything like I would like it to be - you did a fine job here getting the low moon before it lights up to much.

Από ότι βλέπω τελικά το τράβηξες το φεγγάρι. Με το φακό τον 300άρη και στο έφερε τόσο κοντά; Πολύ όμορφος φωτισμός και όμορφα τοποθετημένο στο κάδρο!

Το φεγγάρι είναι ένα από τα ενδιαφέροντά μου στις φωτογραφίες, κάτι έχει παρακάνει για να αναδείξεις το ανάγλυφο αλλά είναι ωραίο.
Ο τρίποδας δεν είναι απαραίτητος από τη στιγμή που θα φώτιστεί η επιφάνεια του φεγγαριού. Με ταχύτητα 1/500 ή 1/640 και f5 βγαίνουν πεντακάθαρες φωτο χωρίς τρίποδα και χωρίς προσπάθεια.
Αυτός ο 300άρης είναι ο απλός της Νικον έτσι;
Αν ναι τον ίδιο έχω και εγώ και για τα λεφτά που τον πήρα 170 ευρώ είναι αστέρι.

A great effort capturing this natural phenomenon. I have yet to attempt a shot like this, but seeing this, I might try my luck. Nice warm colour cast and good details.

Παρατηρωντας πολλες απ τις φωτογραφιες καταλαβα οτι απλα δεν εισαι απλα χομπιστας αλλα πολυ παραπανω.
Η συγκεκριμενη ειναι εξαιρετικη και απο αποψης συνθεσης οξυτητας ευκρινειας πραγματικα εντυπωσιακη...ειναι τα λιγοτερα που μπορω να πω
Να σαι παντα καλα να μας χαριζεις τετοιες στιγμες.
