Back to overlooking pov, but no clouds today, this is the view of Skyros town, the main village of the island of the same name, that appears on most of the postcards and tourist brochures, yet I have not seen any others on TE. It was taken from the highest point of the old village, the cubic white architecture is similar to the Cyclades, even though Skyros is one of the Sporades islands. Home scan from a damaged (of course) negative, neat filter neatened the sea more than I would have liked, and desaturated a little, after applying contrast it looked too fluorescent green.

Wonderful swathe you present hre, showing how the classic Greek domestic architecture fits into the landscape. Especially good result, even for you.

Bu tür geniş alan derinliği olan fotoğraflardaki ustalığın tartışılmaz.
Yine güzel bir manzara.

Spectacular view with excellent contrasts between the white buildings and greenery. The depth is excellent. Pity you didn't look after your negatives better - it's noticable especially on the horizon.

Excellent pov, great perspective.
For my taste a bit to much "neated" or "blured" in the sky area, but at all a nice photo.

What an impressive panoramic view from the faboulous island of Skyros! Maybe the best photo in TE from this excellent place. Breath taking view, excellent depth, magnificent exposure, great colors and lighting. Well done!!!

a very wide perpective which finishes (or starts ?) with open sea in the back ground. The point of view is spectacular. The positioning of the white houses on the left is curious, there is like a circular movement in the picture from left to right. A nice salvage if the negative was damaged.
All the best,

Selamlar Tan bey,

Amazing view! All the small houses in the landscape and especially in front on the hill look great. Their white walls contrast nicely to the green fields. I find the framing in top and right by the blue also very nice. Good work!

Hi Tan - no clouds but to compensate you've placed the horizon high in the frame, and it's very effective. Great viewpoint, and good colours too.

Hey Tan. Wow what a view! I can see why it would be popular for the postcards. I don't see any damage from the scan. That air must be clean because the clarity it exceptional. tfs Tan.

This is a typical Capthaddock view. You did a good job with the PP - the colours and contrasts look pretty natural. I like the cluster of white houses in the foreground which are so typically Greek, and the eye is led nicely along the curve of the coast towards the headland. Lovely view.

Hello Tan, this is a coulourful landscape taken from an interesting viewpoint. The little houses look like boxes. You did well with the damaged neg.

Great view of the village. Before I read your note I could swear this had been taken from some aircraft. VEry nice angle showing this coast line in a great perspective. You are really the scanning master.

Fantastic shot of this coastal village. You seemed to always find that amazing birds eye view. I like the clarity and sharpness of this compostion. The bend of the landscape tempts my eye to follow along. Excellent exposure as well.

What a fantastic view!! I like so much those white houses in the foreground, and down the green flat. It is really unusual. And all that blue sea around! Nice composition, a new POV! Compliments, thank you!|!!

Hi Tan, Very nice topdown view on Chora, I enjoy the perspective and the colors and it's also graphically pleasing. I returned from Skyros some theree weeks ago and its nice to recognize all kinds of elements here, such as the archeological and Faltaits museums near on the edge of the hill. Very good job.
Have a nice week,

it is a great landscape. Excellent the P O V and the D O F.
I like the theme's description, too.

Very beautiful picture indeed, befitting a gorgeous island like Skyros. I also cannot understand why there are not more posted images of the view from the top of Skyros' Chora - it is absolutely breathtaking. I stayed in Skyros at one of the small hotels on the beach for about 4 days in 1997 (while doing geophysical field work) and I still remember those moments as some of the most serene of my life.
