Photographer’s Note
Santorini, Greece is a small, circular group of volcanic islands located in the Aegean Sea, about 200 km south-east from the mainland of Greece (latitude: 36.40°N - longitude: 25.40°E). It is also known by the name of the largest island in the archipelago, Thira or Thera. It is the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of approximately 73 km² (28 sq mi), and in 2001 had an estimated population of 13,600.
It is the most active volcanic centre in the Aegean Arc, though what remains today is largely a caldera. The name Santorini was given to it by the Venetians in the 13th century and is a reference to Saint Irene. Before then it was called Kallisti ('the most beautiful one'), Strongili ('the circular one'), or Thera.
The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions of the last several thousand years when it erupted cataclysmically about 3,500 years ago. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of feet deep, and its effects may have indirectly led to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete, 110 km (70 mi) to the south.
Santorini is full of wonder and mystery and the beauty of the island is unsurpassed in Greece. A magnificent island, a setting where you can forget everyday cares. A signature of the past that makes you wonder about the wizardry of nature, enjoy stunning views over the caldera, bathe in the bluest of seas. It is natural that Santorini inspired many. - Anonymous

I took this photo before I have known about TE and TL. It was the time before I got hooked in digital photography. I took this photo with my old Minolta camera. I do not have any record of the ECIF and no negatives to scan. I scanned the old print from my album. From the scanned print I did the usual processing for a digital negative.
P Work: Adjusted levels control; Adjusted saturation; Sharpen; Crop; Frame; Reduce size for posting.
