Photographer’s Note
Ok, after several days as I was very busy, I'm returning with this shot.
The winter is a breath away (and Christmas are comming real fast!) but we have our minds back to the last summer and our vacations.
This is a more close view of the bust of Manto Mavrogenous at the central square of the Chora of Mykonos.
Some infos about this great heroine:
She came from a rich family, she was educated and her contribution to the Greek Independency was great. Not only did she give her whole fortune to the War but she also participated in person in battles and enlightment expeditions in Europe. Manto (Mandalena or Magdalena) Mavrogenous was born in Trieste in 1796 and her grandfather, Dimitrios Mavrogenous, was dragoman of the fleet and governor in Vlahia and Moldavia. Manto, realising that in all the neighbouring islands the revolution had started, enthousiastically stimulated the Mykonians to shake of the Turkish yoke. Manto equipped and manned at her own expense two ships and she sent them to Euboea to instigate the people there. To pay homage to Manto Mavrogenous, the Mykonians have named after her Hora's central square where her bust has been raised.

Hi Mpampis. I like how you incorporated the strong foreground into the shot. You've have captured some good contrast between the white buildings and the dark blue sky. Nice work Mpampis!

Kalimera Mpampis! Very nicely composed this pic. I like it how you let the square work for the bust. The blue-white is again very enticing and the poeplee in the frame add a nice accent. Very nice work.
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

Kalimera Mpampis,
A good entry in your heavily polarized series, I like here the contrasts, the good focal point of the statue and the additional colors brought by the people behind it, you just could have waited for a second and the man on the right to disappear from the frame. Not too bad, he does not trouble too much.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Informative about the lady and a fine presentation of this place in the great summer setting.
Compowise I wonder if a more offcentered placement of the statue had worked as well - placed more to the right, cropping the man there but adding more of the plaza life..

Hey Mpampis,
This one also my favorite type. The DoF is very good as it's always in your such captures. The colors are so realistic as usual and the human factor is adding a good taste to the scene.
Well done and thanks for sharing...

Bulent

Hi Mpampis,
It's quite bussy street scenery with strong light and many bright colours, but you still managed to show the statue as the main subject. Well done.
Thanks,
Marek
