Sifnos, lies in the Cyclades islands between Serifos, Kimolos and Antiparos and is about 80 nautical miles from Piraeus/Athens
Sifnos Island is part of the Western Cyclades and is a beautiful region, with whitewashed houses with in blue or red coloured windows and wooden balconies, with lots of churches and chapels, with stone-paved streets and alleys and some sandy beaches. Unlike some Cycladic islands, it has many verdant olive trees which add a touch of green, among the dominating bright white and blue.
The houses in Sifnos are very picturesque and give an excellent example of the traditional Cycladic architecture, in its best form.
There are 365 churches and monasteries, one for each day of the year.
The churches are all built in the traditional vernacular architecture, with round domes, sometimes blue, contrasting with the bright white of the rest of the church, sometimes entirely whitewashed.
Taken in Kastro, one of the villages of the island.

Hi János. Without looking at the location info, already from the thumbnail photo it was clear that it had to be Greece. Good use of the foreground portal as a framing device for the stairs and architectural detail in the background. Also a quite well-balanced exposure to render good detail all over without blowing the whites. I am not sure if the inscribed stone in the foreground adds a lot, it might be an idea to crop it and just focus on the door and what is behind. Good notes, too.

Very interesting achitecture! I like the imperfect lines of the doorway and movement of the steps. Well seen and captured.

Great shot! You captured here some beautiful Greek architecture. Very good composition, with some excellent framing! Light and colors were managed well.

Nice composition. The game of the blue and hte white is beautiful. But for me the first square at the right is not good, you can frame the picture without it.
Weel done Janos.
