Tinos - A very old house Photo

Back to my classic "old houses" style. :)

This is a very old house at the Chora of Tinos, very near to the harbor and on the most market street with many stores around.

This house is at the beggining of 19th century. Was builded when the island was very rich and strong from the merchantry. Infront of it it's a fountain with a bust. The letters on the fountain are not so clear but I was read a date on it: 1778 if I remember well.

The weather was very good, strong sunlight again but I think the blue sky balanced this shot very well.

Πολύ καλή πράγματι η ισορροπία του γαλαζιου του ουρανού μετα υπόλοιπα χρώματα, Μπάμπη. Είναι αξιοπερίεργο πόσο μεγάλες γίνονται οι μπουκαμβίλιες στα Κυκλαδίτικα νησιά, κάνοντας τόσο ωραία αντίθεση.

Bonsoir mon ami Mpampis,
Vous pouvez continuer à publier de vieilles maisons Mpampis, j'adore cela. J'apprécie particulièrement cette demeure avec cet étage à fronton triangulaire qui fait la part belle aux pigeons.
La fontaine en avant-plan et le buste donnent de la force à la composition.
Très belle lumière avec un ciel d'un bleu "divin".

Kalimera Mpampis, yes, I was beginning to miss them ;-). The enjoyable viewing of this one starts with the upwards PoV and the nicely dynamic perspective distortion. The second item on the menu is the lovely contrast bteween the old texture of the wall and the vegetation, facilitated by the very good defenition and nice tones of this pic. And the third and last is the classic architecture portrayed. Very nice one!
