Empress Elizabeth of Austria (1837-1898) was fascinated by the mythology of Ancient Greece; she especially admired Achilles, and dedicated the palace to him. The vast gardens surrounding the building, having a wonderful view to a large part of the island, are going down to the coastal road. They are decorated with many statues the most famous of which are the two bronze runners, the dying Achilles and the statue of Achilles Triumphant. Here you can see the first marble statue of dying Achilles

Must be a wonderful palace there...

greetings,

Luc

I suppose the death of Achilles ends this nice little series. What will be next of the famous Greek history?

Hi Ioannis, A great POV. The status is well placed in the dark green background, made a clear outline of the marble status. It is a very detailed sharp image. Well done.

Hi Ioannis,
Great photo here. It's really a beautiful place, and worth the visit.
I have attached a workshop. I hope you like it.

A very nice picture with a good composition.
I like the light too, well done!

Hi Ioannis- very good image quality, looks like a very nice park.

Very sharp shot of this nice monument. Two bad the sky is overblown because of the time of day. TFS Gianni.
