Hardly anyone was in this tiny bay on the island of Folegandros thirty-two years ago. I suspect it's different now. There was an old fisherman shown in this earlier posting, who had gone back to his hut, the only habitation to be seen anywhere. And this girl diving. She kept doing it, as she had the bay to herself. Apart from me. I think the bay is called Galifos.

Hi Will - perfect timing here, as her hands are just cutting into the water and you caught her in mid arc. The sharpness of the image explodes when it gets to her, after the blur from DOF of the rockface and water in BG. Meanwhile she, who is moving, is caught in crystal clear detail! Great scan as well, from a now 30+ year old shot!

Un beau retour en arrière avec cette magnifique photo prise juste au bon moment. J'aime bien la composition qui fait une continuité entre le rocher, la plongeuse et le bateau. Beau travail de scan.
Tous mes compliments et bonne semaine,

a very invigorating shot, I can almost feel the freshness of the day and water. The timing is perfect and so are the colors. If you allow me some nagging, I think you were a bit too hard on sharpness here, the extremely graphic outlines of the lady's body make it look as if she were photoshopped in:)
Other than that I fully enjoy your picture!
Have a great week!

What a lovely quiet and secluded place. Of course, the main subject is very attractive and you've caught her at just the right moment of this graceful dive but the composition is also excellent, the boat on the right and the little stone jetty on the left framing this elegant diver perfectly.
Lovely light and colours, bang-on exposure, despite the difficult conditions with contre jour lighting, and excellent details and sharpness.

great catch, I really admire how sharp is the girl in spite of being in movement. Obviously I know that one can use faster time but you captured her in the best possible moment which means that you had one go, unless as you mentioned she kept repeating it :)
I am also amazed by the quality: you say it was taken in 1982! My scans from 2001 are pretty bad already: the negatives were quite damaged over time.
Excellent photo, smooth body contrasts well with the rough rocks around.

I've never been to Folegandros but hear very good comments by people who have spent their holidays there. It must have changed but I think that it has kept its tranquil and relaxing atmosphere and the people who visit it expect to find just that. I like very much the colours, textures and atmosphere of your photo. Your timing was superb, the girl is attractive and offers reference but even the action is smoothly integrated in the calm scenery. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
