A view of two completely different little churches in the town of Pothia on the island of Kalymnos, Greece. The town is the island capital and is built in an amphitheatre around the port, which is a colourful and lively, if noisy, place at times. Have to say though that I loved it!

Nice cropping of this contrasty, colourful image. The concentration of various shaped buildings make for a strong geometric composition and they are nicely lit in the bright sunshine. Perfect exposure and excellent détails and sharpness.

A cleverly framed shot using the two domes to draw the viewer ever inwards. The light is particularly agreeable and the colours pleasant and harmonious. Looks a very interesting place to explore.

well considered and excellently framed composition!
The architecture is beautiful and you provide us here with really magnificent view on it,with so many details we can admire.
But the most I like this strong, graphical effect you´ve achieved.
Have a nice day

Good us of the POV to align these two beautiful looking church domes in a straight line. Like the church in the BG shining in the nice warm light. The flowers are adding lively colours to the scene. The architectural difference between the both the churches is noteworthy. Lovely light and colours, excellent clarity as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Your pictures of Pothia show a very attractive town. However this is not a very well known place on the Greek islands. Perhaps this only applies to me?
A very nice Eastern-looking sight.
Beautiful light and colours. The soft coloured facades are supplemented with bright blue doors and windows and with the red flowers.
Good choice of POV.
Best regards, Paul

Two domes, and both are nice to see. Captured very well using a very good POV. I like your tight framing. Depth and sharpness as ever great. A nice presentation indeed. I enjoyed it a lot Brian.

Ciao e buona giornata

I wouldn't want to miss this one. I love you Greek series and maybe after this summer I will try to visit this part of Greece.
Very lovely tight frame to show great architecture. The domes are nice elements in this mosaic of rather square buildings. The tree with some flowers add color and life. Superb colors and light as always :-)

This gorgeous picture reminds me the wonderful time I spent there, this beautiful country. The light golden tone is so inviting. I really like it.

Howdy, you 'ol salty sailor,
You'll forgive me if the title brought something to mind other than actual church domes?? ;) Probably need a good church or two if you're spending time around a port, yeah? All kinds of shenanigans going on with those seamen and their tall tales of tuna fishing and the likes.
I've always enjoyed these tight frames of cityscapes, bringing out all of the shapes, patterns and every subtle nuance seen from afar. I know it's not the intent, but I kind of feel like a "peeper" looking into each window as my eyes scan over the entire image for each little detail. Does your camera double as a pair of binoculars? hehe The compressed perspective really makes this appear dense, and the soft light helps give good dimension. This would make for one heck of a puzzle! I bet this is a fun place to explore, each street probably holds its own unique view and material to photograph. Bright and colorful, nicely done mate!
Enjoy the day ahead. Take it easy.
Cheers from the big blue skies,
Ready to make that weather trade at any time, I'm starting to cough dust.

Close cropping works well here Brian and the domes make a good subject. There is a lot to absorb in this colourful image.... I love the tiny cross in the top right. Warm regards rosemary

Magnifique cadrage de ces différents lieux de culte enserrés au milieu des maisons. Superbe lumière et j'aime les différentes taches de couleurs réparties dans l'image.

Gidday dear Brian
Ahh these tightly packed, beautifully coloured houses and churches are a photographer's dream. Your perfectly-judged tight framing and wonderful saturation exalt this place into somewhere where I must travel to. Stunning sharpness and definition. It almost seems three-dimensional. What a beautiful and artistic shot.
Warmest wishes and happy Friday, I've downed a few vinoes, so apologise if there's too much love in the room ;)

lovely composition, it is so busy: it always works great I believe. You have included two nice structures in characteristic Byzantine style, I like it very much, may be because it is so different from what we are used to see in the north.
Great light and perfect sharpness.
