One from my archives today, I am sure a lot of you would really like to be sitting by this pool rather than listening to the howling wind and rain on the roof - I know I would, so I dedicate this one to all you winter storm sufferers. This image was taken at the famous Shirley Valentine (UK Film) Taverna at Agios Ioannis on the island of Mykonos, Greece. Not sure if the place looks like this anymore, as I understand it has had a makeover, but it was good to sit in one of those chairs with a large Mythos beer.

I am not really one for relaxing by the pool, but I could make an exception here, especially with a large beer to hand:-) The shot is very well framed with the enormous urn making a great focal point from which we can go on take in the cruise ship moored in the background. Beautiful light and natural colours and some lovely reflections in the shimmering waters of the pool. A fine reminder of warm summer days after all this terrible wind and rain., though we have none of that here just at the moment.

The title says it all. But the catch is superb too.

Excellent photo good enough to act as healing balm for the storm battered people in the UK. A fantastic relaxed and holiday atmosphere captured over here. Love the balance between the artificial and the natural blue. Nice photo with soothing colours and great clarity. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot ,Good POV. Yes certainly would like to be next to a pool with a large Mythos. Think I will nip to Morrison's and get a few and put the fire on and pretend.

Just book me a chair!
This looks so inviting!
The reflections guide to the comfort of the waiting deckchairs, whilst the large urn completes the Greek atmosphere.
It is like using horizontal layers of a jigsaw, which when all fitted together complete the picture of endless sun, sea and relaxation.
Have a great day,
Sunshine today but have no time to photograph, damn!

How are you my good man? Up to no good I assume? :)
Whether or not this has undergone a transformation, I'm sure it's just as idyllic as you mention, hard to argue with a view out over the water. Something tells me that you've still sat back and enjoyed a nice adult beverage while taking in this scenic view...even if it has been from in front of your computer. lol
Fun to look back on old photos, yeah? Your 2003's look much better than mine, and I'm sure it does bring back some good memories. What catches me here are the three layers of blue (shocking, I know...blue, go figure), each with their own distinct shade. This does have a nice, relaxed mood that beckons to be consumed.
Speaking of shade, sure wish we had more, it's still unseasonably warm...how about we make a trade? You can have the heat and sunny skies for a few, and I'll gladly take a storm or two off your hands. Who do we get to facilitate that for us, the Big Man upstairs stopped listening to me after I moved to the devils playground!? Enjoy the new day, be good now. Take it easy.
Cheers from the dust bowl,

If only hey.
What a super image of this pool and deck side in Mykonos, it do's look so inviting.
Great tight crop, so we can also see the ocean and Cruise ship.
Gorgeous colours, well managed light.

Hi Brian, Even if it is not very cold now and no wind or rain, I wouldn't mind to sit near this pool with a view on the sea. Charming idyllic place. And I do not need any beer.
Warm regrads MAlgo

nicely spotted scene with very typical Greek colors and details. The blue pool in the foreground corresponds nicely with little bit darker sea behind the bar. The white vase and deckchairs create some holiday atmosphere and add pretty contrast to the image. Well composed and finished off with lovely landscape on the horizon.
Well done! TFS

Amazing colours! I especially like the layers of various shades of blue: the sky, the see and the pool. Nicely captured reflection too.

I like the juxtaposing of the fg blue of the swimming pool against the bg blue of the sea nicely framed through the thatched roof of the sunshade. Good sharpness and a nice exposure on the difficult white highlights depicted here. Have a great a warm weekend!
