Donkeys. They're a surprisingly useful method of transport on the island of Santorini. While they may be more of a novelty for incoming tourists from visiting cruise ships these days, their role in the past was certainly useful. These animals were elected to constantly climb the steep cliffside sidewalks built from the sea, straight up to the towns of Thira hundreds of meters above. Carrying people, food, and any other objects that people could not (or did not want to carry), the Greek donkeys of the past certainly put in hard days of work on this picturesque Greek island in the Aegean Sea.

Well captured with great color and detail. Thanks for your narrative which explains well the role of these little beasts. Well framed.

A funny scene (probably not so funny for the donkey!) well framed and with difficult light condition. Only the lower left corner is overexposed.
