Photographer's Note
Early morning in the village of Pyrgos on the island of Santorini, Greece. A chance for a Greek coffee and perhaps a seat in the sun, before the real heat of another blue-sky Mediterranean day. Modern day influences - telephone wires and air-conditioners, mixed with the old walls and beauty of this picturesque village.

Hello Brian
Looks like a very pleasant spot to have a couple of ouzos & a Greek salad & some seafood! Good sharpness & punchy light contrasts yet still with good shadow detail & negligible oe in the highlights. I love the textural details in the white wall. The light is hitting it at just the right angle! Have a nice weekend!

Yes, I think I can visualise myself sitting here with a cup of coffee Brian, at this time of day a perfectly peaceful place to while away some time and enjoy the ambience. Lovely shot with just enough detail in the shadows. Very good light management always tricky with such a range of tones. Have great weekend Rosemary

Ciao Brian

Hello Brian ,
A seat in the sun , a seat in the shade ... For all the tastes ! The composition is excellent . Like especially here the blue of teh sky , exactly the same than the chairs and the gates .

Hi Brian,
beautiful composition with the charming table with chairs in the foreground and the typical architecture in the back. Interesting play of the light and shadow. It adds so much interest here and helps to frame the main view in a very original way. Very well spotted, excellent exposition too.

Hi Brian,
the difficult contrast between the zones illuminated by the Sun and the zones in the shade they were a serious challenge for a photographer, and were disturbing for a good exposure in this capture.
But you solved it very well, the image has a great balance in the luminosity and a great sharpness.
The white architecture and the table with the chairs of a vivid blue color are perfectly balanced, in a powerful and attractive composition.
Best regards,
Josep

Hello Brian.
This is a beautiful image and love to see on of those inviting chairs in the fg lie in the shade. Lovely colors and well rendered details in a superb tall frame capture.
Thanks and have a wonderful Sunday.

Hello Brian,
Ah, Santorini! Again you tantalise us with beautiful photographs of this magical place. And what more enticing than to sit down right here and enjoy an early morning coffee while we decide where next to explore.
The play of light and shade is wonderful and the colours vibrant and strong, the deep blue of the sky and church dome echoed in the table and chairs and the gate and railings to the right and little areas of ochre breaking up the preponderance of brilliant white.
Perfect exposure in a less than ideal situation, lovely contrasts and stunning sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Brian
In this photo, i like how it seems like there is a spotlight near the chair, as if asking someone to please come in and have a seat.
The other subject i really like are the power lines.
So many people want power lines taken OUT of photos, I like them in - they add realism, showing the natural look.
love it.
cheers

Hi Brian
probably I would rather sit in the shadow, or just wander around on the narrow streets. Wonderful blue. It is a heaven for photographers.
