The Proud Little House, a photo from Kefalinia, Ionian Islands

Photographer's Note

This colourful little house is typical of the homes in Assos. I call it "proud" because virtually everyone who passes by, as they walk down the narrow street to the small harbour, stops to photograph or admire it.

Assos village is virtually untouched by tourism, with a quiet village square with a few bars and resturants around the small harbour and the clear blue water lapping at the boats. It is a very quiet and a perfect place to relax, sample the local wine and enjoy a meal of fish caught freshly that morning.

It's a lovely house, I love the tree so close to home, the combination of the typical Greek island with the tree and colorful petals that have fallen on the floor.
I'm sure there must be a special place

This tree has lots of beautiful flowers and they look specially nice in combination with the soft pastel colour of the wall and the bright blue of the door.

Rosemary the bright blue door and purple blossoms bring a sense of completeness and strong attraction to the senses. Very strong and yet minimalist setting here for every passing photographer to click the shutter. Excellent.

The people in mediterranean are lucky with the climate and can grow such beautiful bougainvilleas, with the any wall looks splendid. I tried to grow it but it is too cold in Poland. Simple com,position but with these colours looks great.
