Black Cave Waterfall Photo

Photographer’s Note

I small break of my Austria travelogue with a photo of wonderful place about 40 min by car from my home town Karpenissi.
This small gorge named "Black Cave" can found near the Proussos village (start at Kastania bridge) and can reached either from Agrinio or Karpenissi.
The name come from the cave exist at the end of the narrow path through the gorge. This cave used as hideout for the locals during the Turkish occupation and other difficult periods of Greek history.

Very good photo of crystal clear water in motion among rocks and green trees. We knew that Greece has lovely water fronts but this photo of yours tell that the entire country is beautiful and full of water bodies.

Chris,
This is a great long exposure. The effect of the long exposure on the falling water is perfect. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The overhanging trees frame the falls nicely.

Πολύ όμορφο μέρος φίλε μου Χρήστο!
Ιδανικό για διαφυγή και στις μέρες μας για δροσιά και ξενοιασιά.
Καθαρή η φωτογραφία όπως το νερό που τρέχει! Το χρώμα είναι το κάτι άλλο και το σημείο απ' όπου την τράβηξες σίγουρα μας δίνει την καλύτερη θέα.

Hi Chris,

I think you've composed this shot wonderfully! I like the pin sharp foreground leading back to the waterfall and the positioning of bright green foliage in the frame makes it all work nicely together. The waterfall is sadly over exposed, which would be hard to avoid in these conditions, but you could have tried a HDR technique to avoid it, or even taken two shots a different exposures and in photoshop brushed through the correctly exposed water part. Only an idea!

Εξαιρετικό το αποτέλεσμα με καλό κάδρο, καλή έκθεση και -όσο χρειάζεται- ζεστά χρώματα από ένα μέρος που από ότι δείχνεις είναι πανέμορφο.
