‘Το Καρναβάλι της Ξάνθης δεν είναι μασκαράτες, ούτε και υπάρχει δεύτερο στην Ελλάδα, έτσι όπως το ενεπνεύσθη μια ομάς Ξανθιωτών, οι οποίοι ξεκίνησαν με πεποίθηση ότι θα το καταστήσουν έναν θεσμό εις την Θράκη και εις την Μακεδονία. Είναι εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις λαϊκές που λαμβάνουν μέρος, όχι μόνον άψυχα κινούμενα, δημιουργήματα της ζωγραφικής και της σημερινής νοοτροπίας ή μπογιατισμένες καρικατούρες, αλλά συγκροτήματα μουσικά με ευρωπαϊκά και εγχώρια λαϊκά όργανα….. Και η επιτροπή, κατά γενική ομολογία τριάντα χιλιάδων λαού που παρακολουθούσε τις εκδηλώσεις αυτές εις την Ξάνθη, το επέτυχαν πλήρως. Θεσμός λοιπόν κατέστησαν οι Θρακικές Λαογραφικές Εορτές της Ξάνθης…..Είναι ένα λαϊκό πανηγύρι, ένα σύνολο λαογραφικών εκδηλώσεων μέσα στην εποχή της αποκριάς και της διασκεδάσεως….. Τα καρναβάλια και τα άρματα, ωραιότατα και αυτά, αποτελούν το συμπλήρωμα των εορταστικών...

The carnival of Xanthi is not just a parade of disguised people and there is no other like it and as it was inspired by a group of its founders who begun with the determination and the belief to make it an institution in Thrace and in Macedonia. Not only does it consist of soulless colorful mechanized caricatures but it really consists of folk celebrations with European and domestic bands. And the responsible committee about the organization of the carnival have succeeded as it is said by thousands of people who have attended the celebrations. It is officially then an institution. It is a fair, an aggregation of folk festivals in the season of the carnival and in times of entertainment. So the parade itself are are the complement of the whole festival which is Thrace’s vivid expression.

Μού αρέσει η διαγώνια παρουσίαση της πανηγυρικής σκηνής του ονομαστού καρναβαλιού της Ξάνθης. Πολύ καλό το φόντο με το όμορφο αυτό κτίριο.

This is an interesting picture. Colors of carnival are nice , but i see a contrast with the faces of these girls. They look sad. It Give a strange atmosphere

Wonderfully clear colors and sharpness to this fine festive scene.

The tilt worked very well here IMO. Seems like a fun carnival like a mix of hippie and halloween beer fest.
