Photographer’s Note

Trikala is a beautiful town, a pleasant surprise for those who think that country towns are boring and dull. On the contrary Trikala is a town full of life, great nightlife and beuatiful women. Also lots of great cultural events Besides that a lot of things to do and see there. The old part of the town, known as Varousi, the fort with the old clock (the trademark of the town) and of course the Lithaios river that crosses the town, rather unusual thing to see in Greece and creates a beautiful atmosphere.

Among the many brigdes of the river, this one (The Central Bridge) is the most beautiful. It was constructed in 1886 and until 1996 it was used also by vehicles. Today it's only for pedestrians.

The statue that you see upon the second bridge in the background is that of Asclepius, the Demigod of Medicine and Healing, who according to Greek Mythology was born right here, by the banks of Lithaios river.
