MAKRINITSA VILLAGE


Tα σπίτια της Μακρινίτσας ανήκουν στον Βο-ρειοελλαδικό τύπο της ελληνικής λαίκής αρχιτεκτονικής, όπως τα σπίτια του Μετσόβου, της Σιάτιστας, της Καστοριάς, της Βέροιας και του Πηλίου. Κτίσθηκαν κυρίως μεταξύ 1750-1830.



Είναι πέτρινα, διόροφα ή τριόροφα, με μικρά
ανοίγματα στους κάτω ορόφους που δίνουν φρουριακό χαρακτήρα στην κατασκευή, ενώ ο επάνω όροφος, ο οποίος προεξέχει συνήθως σε σχέση με τον προηγούμενο, είναι κτισμένος με ελαφρύτερα υλικά
και έχει πολλά ανοίγματα.

Η στέγη είναι πάντοτε
ξύλινη με επικάλυψη από πλάκες Πηλίου.
Στο ισόγειο βρίσκονται συνήθως αποθήκες, κελλάρια

κ.ά. βοηθητικοί χώροι του σπιτιού.
Στα διόροφα σπίτια το δεύτερο πάτωμα είναι ο κύριος
χώρος κατοικίας της οικογένειας, χειμώνα - καλοκαίρι.

Στα τριόροφα όμως σπίτια ο μεσαίος όροφος είναι ο χώρος κατοικίας για τον χειμώνα ενώ ο πάνω όροφος, το ανώγι, χρησιμεύει σαν χώρος κατοικίας το καλοκαίρι και για την υποδοχή των ξένων.


Εκεί, στο ανώγι, που είναι συνήθως πλούσια διακοσμη-μένο, πολλές φορές ένα τμήμα του δαπέδου είναι υπερυ-ψωμένο σχηματίζοντας ένα καθιστικό που χωρίζεται με τορνευτά ή ξυλόγλυπτα κάγκελα από τον υπόλοιπο χώρο, έχει ξύλινους πάγκους με χρωματιστά στρωσίδια στους γύρω τοίχους και απ' τα γύρω παράθυρα έχει κανείς πολύ καλή θέα προς το γύρω τοπίο.

Η μεγάλη πλατεία της Μακρινίτσας με τα πελώρια υπεραιωνόβια πλατάνια και με τα κρυστάλλινα τρεχούμενα- από τις κρήνες – νερά, είναι μια πραγματική όαση γαλήνης, ομορφιάς και απόλαυσης με θέα στο Βόλο και τον Παγασητικό. Εδώ βρίσκεται η εκκλησία του Αγίου Ιωάννου του Προδρόμου του 1792 δίπλα από τη μαρμάρινη κρήνη με το ʽαθάνατο νερόʼ. Στην άκρη της πλατείας σώζεται τοιχογραφία του μεγάλου λαϊκού ζωγράφου Θεόφιλου στον καφενέ του Βοτσαρέα. Στο αρχοντικό Τοπάλη, που θωρήθηκε το 1932 από τους τελευταίους απόγονους της οικογένειας Τοπάλη στην κοινότητα, στεγάζεται το Μουσείο Λαϊκής Τέχνης και Ιστορίας Πηλίου που φιλοξενεί σπάνια αντικείμενα και ενθύμια. Στην Μακρινίτσα κάθε χρόνο αναβιώνει το ονομαστό έθιμο των ʽΜαηδωνʼ, εκδηλώσεις με έντονο διονυσιακό χαρακτήρα που είναι ένα ξέφρενο λαϊκό πανηγύρι. Ο επισκέπτης μπορεί να θαυμάσει παλιές εκκλησίες, εξωκλήσια, μοναστήρια που μερικά από αυτά ξαναχτίστηκαν ή αναπαλαιώθηκαν και άλλα που εγκαταλείφθηκαν και βρίσκονται διάσπαρτα σε όλο το χωριό μέχρι και την περιοχή της Κουκουράβας, το μέρος που ενώνει τη Μακρινίτσα με το Βόλο.

MAKRINITSA VILLAGE

In the large square of Makrinitsa with its tall old plane trees and the ice-cold crystal water –“Importal water”- of the carved fountain, there is the church of Agios Ioannis Prodromos.

At the edge of the square survives a hagiography by Theofilos and in the location of the ruined Topalis mansion, has been built the wonderful Folkore Museum which hosts a collection of rare objects and mementos.

In Makrinitsa the known custom of “Maidon” still survives; a series of wild ceremonial performances that have their origin in the ancient pagan Dionysiac ceremonies.


A visitor can also admire the old churches, chapels and monasteries, many of them were rebuild or restored but other ruined and abandoned can be found in all round the village till the settlement of Koukourava, the place that join the city of Volos with Makrinitsa, too.

the columns of houses that have been 'thriving' the slopes for many years are pictured well. they seem to have the uniform colors under a well lit sun. i looks like there are no human 'invasion' but on a closer look, i see one. great work.
