Photographer’s Note
July the first is the day that smoking will be prohibited in all public places in Greece, perhaps a bit later than other countries in the EC zone. Being a smoker or not is not the real issue, but the government’s persistence in bringing even more anguish to those poor victims of nicotine. It seems that in a country where we can enjoy outdoors for more than 8 months a year it would have been a lot easier to force the restaurant or café owners to install proper ventilation so that all people can enjoy their time out. But they will not! Instead in a way that leaves a lot to be considered, they promote a new “fruit” of our times, that of social fractionism, in which the organized western states tend to split the social unity into subgroups turning each one against another in a great effort to disorient the public opinion from the real problems they have created. So, I guess even the poor camel in my foto has realized it and looks in great skepticism!!!
Actually it was taken last week from one of those rare and perhaps old fashioned circuses which are still kids’ great fun. As my boys are too old to go to a circus I took my neighbor’s kids to it as their parents work long hours. Here you can see some shots from the event that I have posted on facebook. It was really fun!
My apologies for not being very prompt with comments lately, but I’m trying to spend some more time with the family. They seem to need me more than I thought and unfortunately time flies much faster than it used to……. Thanks

Hi dear Argiris,
Good idea, perfect message, perfect realisation !
After having been a pipe smoker for almost 40 years I had also to stop smoking some 5 months ago; and I notice how easy and comfortable life gets without this damned smoke !
TFS and best regards

Hi Argiris,
A compelling closeup of this camel - never seen one quite this way before. Your capture is crystal clear and sharp where it matters to draw attention to the focal point - while blurred in the background. Well done my friend, and TFS. Gerald

Nice capture with upfront and sharp focus on this guy. Smoking has also banned in India and it is becoming increasingly difficult...but with so many things already banned...its easy to cope with!!

Hello Argiris,
This is a fine portrait of this pretty fellow!
The tiny smile is charming and the eyelashes make me believe it is a lady hehehe...
Well framed with super details, the arrogant expression well conveyed!

hi argiris,
nice "portrait" to promote this special day, it's more comfortable to eat in restaurants without smoke all around,
although it is also a violation of freedom .

It is a beautiful camel portrait. The sharpness is excellent and the colours very natural and nice. Smoking in public places has been banned many years ago here in Queensland and all the smokers are now used to it. Well done.

Argiris,
This is a sweetieeee. A pretty well capture that has great sense of humour in it. I won't be surprised if you come of with a Marlboro Man photo who doesn't have cigarette in his hand:):) in the next anniversary of the prohibition.
Best Regards,
Didem
