Photographer's Note

Grey or gray is an achromatic or neutral color.

Complementary colors are defined to mix to grey, either additively or subtractively, and many color models place complements opposite each other in a color wheel. To produce grey in RGB displays, the R, G, and B primary light sources are combined in proportions equal to that of the white point. In four-color printing, greys are produced either by the black channel, or by an approximately equal combination of CMY primaries. Images which consist wholly of neutral colors are called monochrome, black-and-white or greyscale.

The first recorded use of grey as a color name in the English language was in AD 700. Grey is the British, Canadian, Australian, Irish, New Zealand and South African spelling whereas either gray or grey is acceptable American spelling, though gray was also in common usage in the UK until the second half of the 20th century.

In digital photography, monochrome is the capture of only shades of black by the sensor, or by post-processing a color image to present only the perceived brightness by combining the values of multiple channels (usually red, blue, and green). The weighting of individual channels may be selected to achieve a desired artistic effect – if only the red channel is selected by the weighting then the effect will be similar to that of using a red filter on panchromatic film. If the red channel is eliminated and the green and blue combined then the effect will be similar to that of Orthochromatic film or the use of a cyan filter on panchromatic film. The selection of weighting thus allows a wide range of artistic expression in the final monochromatic image...etc...W..

l'immagine è ben composta e trovo originale la scelta del B&W in una situazioni in cui molti avrebbero scelto il colore e l'espressività dei riflessi sull'acqua.

Bonjour Georgios,
ça manque évidemment beaucoup de vie ces scènes en noir et blanc. Toutes les photos ne se prêtent pas à ce jeu des désaturations.
Dans cette photo, la cadrage respecte bien les règles, jolis reflets dansants.

Γιώργο γεια σου,
πολύ όμορφη σκηνή με την γαλήνη να είναι απλωμένη στο λιμάνι, που μοιάζει να είναι σαν απέραντος καθρέφτης. Μου αρέσει η οξύτητα της φωτογραφίας,η κρυφή ομορφιά της, όπως και η μαυρόασπρη παρουσίαση-ανάλυση.

These picture is almost black and white, I see few difference.
Nevertheless a very good picture with the reflections in the water.
You chose a good angle with a lot depth and perspective.
Also your picture is excellent made.
