Photography is a strong tool, a propaganda device, and a weapon for the defense of the environment...and therefore for the fostering of a healthy human race and even very likely for its survival. - Eliot Porter
Sometimes you can tell a large story with a tiny subject. - Eliot Porter
But before all else a work of art is the creation of love . Love for the subject first and for the medium second. Love is the fundamental necessity underlying the need to create, underlying the emotion that gives it form, and from which grows the unfinished product that is presented to the world. Love is the general criterion by which the rare photograph is judged. It must contain it to be not less than the best of which the photographer is capable. - Eliot Porter

Beautiful coming of Autumn. Art, after all, imitates life. The broken ladder - floating amidst the fallen brown maple leaves decaying by natural process - has been excellently captured.
Even more interesting is the reflection of the leafy branches on the still waters. The photograph has clarity, brightness and contrast. The cluster of bright brown leaves, decaying in the water is almost a reflection of the inevitable - the 'future' of all the leaves on the branches above...
Beautiful photograph. Thanks for sharing.

You have managed to combine very different elements into a stunningly beautiful composition. The broken ladder and the decaying leaves are wonderfully integrated with the reflections of still alive leaves to form a pleasing composition of brown, grey, green and blue. You spotted a nature's work of art which not everyone would have seen.

Very nice captured of wonderful composition that denotes the art in the faces of water in the lake.
“The serious love in the heart of cosmos denotes a Non-Ending Beloved” - Bediüzzaman Said Nursi
"Man was created with an infinite innate love for the universe's Creator. For included in human nature is love of beauty, worship of perfection, and love of bestowal. His love increases in accordance with the degrees of beauty, perfection, and bestowal, reaching the furthest degrees of ecstatic love.
Furthermore, contained in tiny man's tiny heart may be a love as great as the universe. Yes, the fact that writings equivalent to a library of thousands of books may be inscribed in the faculty of memory, which is a coffer of the heart's the size of a lentil, shows that the human heart may contain the universe and bear love that great.
Since human nature has such an infinite capacity to love bestowal, beauty, and perfection; and since the universe's Creator possesses infinite sacred beauty, the certain existence of which is self-evidently established by His works to be seen in the universe; and since He possesses infinite holy perfection, the existence of which is necessarily proved by the embroideries of His art apparent in beings; and since He is the owner of infinite bounties, the existence of which is certainly, indeed, observedly, established by the infinite varieties of His bestowal and bounties to be observed in living creatures; these surely demand infinite love from man, who is the most comprehensive, the most needy, the most thoughtful, and the most yearning of conscious beings." - Risale-i Nur 11. flash

I reads very nice words in your notes.
I think not to a broken ladder but to a fence that now gives a nice decorative picture, specially through the color of leaves .
Sharpness and clarity are perfect.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

The broken ladder floating amidst the autumn leaves & the reflections of the foliage against the blue sky creates a fine imagery, which you've captured with finesse. I loved the beauty in simplicity...in this multi-layered photograph...maybe it can epitomize a lot of things than a mere ladder & a few leaves. Fine work!
