A detail captured at the harbour of Ayia Marina. Sometimes there are boats I haven't seen before in the harbour or that visit rarely. A curious glance on an unfamiliar subject can give new ideas. This is something we already know from our travels but since I don't get to travel lately, it's the things that come my way that confirm this for me:)
All the best, a great weekend to all

Hello Ourania ,
What a good idea of the tilt and the framing , to place perfectly the round element in the corner , and to create interesting diagonals ! Fine brillant reflections, too .

I couldn't agree more, the things that come to us and the things all around us make the most amazing subjects, and for me, it has often taken the eyes of another member to show me what is on my doorstep! The recent shots by Rosemary of Ireland showed me my own country in a new light and a blaze of color, and Mariusz' photos remind me of places I haven't been in years.
Certainly this is a great one to find in your own local, the colors remind me of a police car in the UK. The red is very striking against the blue, and the way the reflection of the thin red line breaks on the water, it looks almost like blood. I hope this is not the result of an errant shark :)
All the best, have a great weekend

I like the title. I would have had a hard time to think something out, but you solved that problem very smartly. You also did a very clever thing when creating this diagonal tilt. It gives the view an entirely different dynamic. Even your signature is perfectly included on a diagonal. It's amazing to see how a tilted close-up of something very ordinary, not even extremely beautiful, can be made to look so appealing through an intelligent treatment.
Kind regards, and have a nice weekend.

An artistic approach with the rboat and its eflection, Ourania.
Rusty paint added a special color "painted" over water, with the contribution of a fine daylight.
Have a nice weekend,

Superb warm cold color contrasts in this abstract shot of the fishing boat with wonderful fg reflections and well composed with the diagonal starting in the top right corner. It really enhances the dynamics! Have a great weekend!

I like the tilt you have given to this photo as well as the reflections on the water. The rust stains and the moss gathering on the boat make for a nice photographic effect.

J'aime beaucoup le titre qui accompagne cette superbe composition. Très judicieux comme choix de cadrage serré. Les reflets éparpillent le ligne fine de belle manière.

This is a tilted straight crop showing the water reflections with excellent colour saturation, brightness and contrast which makes for a strong abstract quality. Touch of red against dominant blue is superb additional contrasting colour making the eye continually drawn in. You saw the potential and cleverly to make it work. Congrats

un titre bien choisi, le cadrage est bien fait autour de cette ligne rouge.
Une image graphique bien exécutée.

Maybe for my a little bit an experimental picture.
We see the diagonal lines of the boats together the reflections, this gives a good image.
Your picture shows a wonderful history with the old boat.
Wonderful sharp picture with real colours, also nice details.
Very well composition, nice photograph work. TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

The thin red line gets a lot of nice distorted reflections.
Well done with the tilt.

ohh,I love it!
The boat, these amazing reflections and finally well considered tilt, which creates here so eye-catching "crazy" element and make the composition certainly more expressive.Just like the thin, red line running through the scene.
Wish You a nice sunday

Hi Ourania ,
A really nice presentation and a good idea to tilt the shot giving a strong diagonal of the lines of the boat adding to the curiosity of the photo. Your note is interesting too and a reminder to us all to maybe look a little more carefully for that special shot.

Hello dear Ourania,
I missed this nice capture full of graphical effect.

I just had to backtrack a bit in your gallery, as this shot holds so many of the things that I thoroughly enjoy in a photograph. I've come to like the tilted perspective more and more recently, and this obviously carries that format. My favorite color is blue, so there's another strong and immediate attraction for me. :)
Who doesn't like a good reflection either, and this one has a more abstract visual to it, which is intriguing. Lastly, the textures are amazing along the bottom portion of the boat, the weathered and worn exterior is a nice contrast against the smooth waters. There's also some fun shapes and lines to appreciate from this tight framing and overall composition. I like this one a lot!
subhendu_bagchi (26089) 2013-12-09 1:21
wow, by this thin red line your composition created a strong atmosphere. Excellent minimal frame with superb colour contrast. The tilt in frame added a lot. I love the graphism you created hege. Well done. Tfs.
adores (45329) 2013-12-16 15:22
The tilt is great here! I like a lot this diagonal separating the reflection from the colourful boat! Very good and colourful composition!
