The architectural details on the lower part of it are gorgeous and you photographed them so perfectly (sharpness, exposure, colors)! The whole composition in the vertical format and with the black & white borders is wonderful! The greek islands have certainly become nicer thru your eyes!

Hi Brian!

This is sheer genius! Well, partly your photography, and partly the incredible architecture. Really - the patterns of lines extending at odd angles into the dark blue sea makes this both attractive as a photograph and as a destination. Above all, it's a very good POV - would it be incorrect to assume that you were standing on one of those whitewashed walls to take the photograph?

I've photographed the same scene (with an awful cheap camera long ago...) but this interpretation has no comparison.
Fabulous contrast of colours and light and a very wise composition. It conveys the unique atmosphere of Santorini.

Hi Brian,
It is easy to see and understand why this should be one of your featured photo. Great POV of this picture perfectly place, it's got all the elements to make a perfect post card like picture and composition. Started with the steps that leads us down into the scenery and deep blue see below. the classic feature of greek architecture of white wall and blue sea give great contrast and the warm brick red ceramic, the only major warm colors served as a great anchor point for our vision. All the strong line and shapes give strong graphical elements. The lens filter work perfectly. Although I like very much the deep blue sea and sky, but I think it is a bit too dark in comparison to the foreground, but than again, it is matter of preferences. It is fantastic shot regardless of the pp preference. Thanks. My complements.

Hi Brian,

Another cracker from these attractive islands. This staircase is a superb element to your photo, it adds a great pattern, leading the eye down towards the water beyond. The people who live here have taken a lot of effort to uphold traditional architectural values whereas other places have lost this to overdevelopment.

What I like about this photo, along with a lot of other things, is the light brown clay pot which throws a splash of color other than black, white and blue into the image. The stairways of course leading the eye through the photo is pleasing as well.

Salut Brian,

C'est à peine imaginable une telle beauté. Ta photo est absolument exceptionnelle par sa pureté des lignes et par la sérénité qui s'en dégage.
La mer et sa couleur sont époustouflant, je suis très touché par ces tonalités de bleus et ce contraste incroyable avec ces murs de chaux impeccable.

Le pot en terre est le point central de l'image autour duquel l'oeil descend par l'escalier jusqu'à la mer.
Si je ferais juste une remarque, plus un léger regret, devant tant de perfection, c'est que le navire ne soit pas entier dans le cadrage, mais c'est tellement mineur.

Un grand bravo pour partager tant de beauté.

Wow, you even make a TV antenna look good! Now that's an art. It seems like you;ve even placed the orange pot in the scene it looks so perfect (although I know you haven't). I love the effect of the vertical and horizontal lines on the stairs, they naturally lead the eye down to the sea. Everything is so cris, the image is immaculate with colours so perfect it hurts. Thanks for sharing, what a great shot, you thoroughly deserve every one of those 113 points - and more - the half-green smiley baffles me!
