Oia Santorini: Oia, pronounced ‘Ia’, is the most famous of all villages of Santorini. It is known throughout the world for its quiet life and fantastic sunset, and is certainly the most beautiful and picturesque village of Santorini.

The village is also situated on top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano of Palia and Nea Kameni and the island of Thirassia.
Oia is situated on the north of the island, 11 km away from Fira.

It is a traditional village with charming houses in narrow streets, blue domed churches, and sun-bathed verandas. Its streets have plenty of tourist shops, taverns, cafés, and other shops.

Oia has several cultural attractions like the Maritime Museum which houses a small library, items from the maritime life of the area, and the vestiges of a Venetian fortress.

Many artists fell in love with the area and settled there. For that reason, the village of Oia has many art galleries.

Oia also has a small port, Ammoudi, which can be reached by a set of 300 steps leading down. There, small boats can take you opposite, to the island of Thirassia. The beach of Armenis is also located there. Taverns in Oia offer visitors tasty meals of fresh fish.

Dobro jutro
Lepe barve - samo belo in temno modra in dva kaktusov v toplih barvah. Lepa cerkev in strehe belih kamnov neverjetno.

All that white, with lots of shapes, textures, plants and archtiectural details, some with contrasting colors... I love it!
Very attractive picture!

The light effectively is controlled, perhaps filtered. Clearness is very good and the details are precise. Very pleasant composition.

Hočem napisati v vašem maternem jeziku, upam, da je malo čitljivo vaše besedilo v nizozemščini je zeeerr dobro prebral.
Vidim, da lepo sliko z malo kapelo v predmet.
Mogoče ste poudarili preveč približa, zato smo dobili temnejše uspešnosti.
Je pa vsekakor lepo sliko nietegnstaande nekaj temnejše slike.

Bonjour Vojko.

Même les pierres sont peintes en blanc. Le point de vue donne une perspective très intéressante à l'ensemble. Le rouge et le bleu sont parfaits.

Hi Vojko,
the clean white rocks make an unusual original foreground and a great intro into the chapel. I like also the two cacti. I have a feeling though that the chapel is tilted to the left.

Hi Vojko,

A fabulous photograph - I would imagine that Santorini is not easy to photograph: photogenic, but so, so popular makes it difficult to get fresh and original shots. I love the way you have placed the plants in the foreground, focused only on the white of the buildings, and given the sky a slight greyness (whereas most of us would have pushed the blue in post-production).

Special image. Amazing how you got the white so well defined. REaly like the POV and the inclusion of the cactus at firstplan creating more depth and having the same color as the curch doors. LOvely work.
