Hi Hercules,

The patterns in the rocks are stunning, as are the colours. They could be absolutely enormous like the Grand Canyon or very small: I don't know as there is no sense of scale. Brilliant anyway!

Hi,

You've just found a geologist!! Interesting textures of rocks, indeed. However Yhe photo is for me too bright in the first plan. I guess it's good idea to decrease a bit brightness here. Now, it's hard to focus on all the cadrage. Eye focus automatically on bright area. Neverthless, I like rocky shots.

Very strange and beautiful for my eyes as well. This reminds me of some places here in Utah. The orange and black layers really create some good contrast. I like the way you composed this with the crack in the middle. I also like how you just focused on the rocks and don't show any of the surroundings.

I´m not a specialist, too, but I would say these are different layers of volcanic eruptions, sulphur is the yellow and lava dust the black one (maybe from Santorini?). Wonderful formations in any case..

Si alguien me preguntara qué le falta a la foto, mi respuesta sería, sin dudarlo, el elemento humano.
Creo que aportaría mucho a la foto y ayudaría a entender mejor lo que estamos viendo.

Por cierto, el día 9 salgo para mi pueblo y el siguiente miércoles iría seguramente para Grecia.
Pero todavía no he mirado nada para ir (y voy pillado de tiempo).

Muy buena foto y ademas muy interesante, la formacion calcarea de estas rocas que por cientos de años se fueron formando tu las has captado de una manera genial, los diferentes colores que presentan son realmente impresionantes. Tu POV esta muy bueno igual que tu magnifica definicion.

Hello Hercules,

As I looked at your photograph, I thought exactly what you said, how much a geologist would be able to tell from these strange formations. I will get one of my colleagues, a geologist to look at the image and see if he can make anything out of it. My only recommendation, however, would be to put something recognizable in the photograph, perhaps a lens cap, a tripod, a meter stick (that of course is the trick of the archaeologist), just to get an idea of the scale. Are these layers approximately 10 cm thick or much more?

They look like huge sea shells, and the colours are just beautiful, look at those yellows! A great finding...I like the angle you took the shot from and the position of the crack that 'leads' into the photo. Fantastic!

El efecto abstracto es espectacular, pero los tonos que rodean este fenomeno de la naturaleza, producen un gran complemento.

Sin duda de que son elementos que dignan a ser fotografiados. El encuadre que le has dado es excelente, y el manejo de la iluminación, muy apropiado.
