Photographer's Note

Amorgos is the eastern most island of the Cyclades. It stands in the middle of the Aegean Sea, the crossroad between north and south and leads to the coast of Asia Minor.
The capital of the island is Chora. It is built on the center of the southeast side of the Profitis Ilias mountain, between small hills and cannot be seen from the sea thus protecting it from pirates.
Chora in Amorgos is considered to be one of the most beautiful Cycladic towns, being the life centre of the island. The whitewashed stone paved side streets, the picturesque white cube-like houses that spread around the Medieval Castle with the Venetian Tower, the masterly arches, the forty churches at different parts of the town, the narrow side streets decorated with flower pots and the windmills at the top of the hill make up a magical picture of a medieval fortress town that attracts visitors.
