Photographer’s Note

One more sunset photo, taken from Kastro, the old castle above Plaka, the capital of Milos. If you want to see a different photo, a much wider view of this same sunset, check my ***Milos sunset***
photo.

You can see the beautiful church of Panagia Thalassitra, constructed in 1738. At the upper left part of the photo, you can see the north edge of the western "branch" of the island. If you ever reach there you will see a spectacular "Martian" landscape in the abandoned Iron mines ( ***Check here***). The island close to the horizon and the sun is Antimilos or Erimomilos an uninhabited island where a rare and wild species of goats live.

I "played" a little bit with the angle and turned the polarizer, in order to "guide" the sunbeam to the church.

Hercules, this is an AWESOME capture, it is perfect I think. The colors look natural and the composition is great, and even the shadows are workable, superb post.

one mor beatuiful take from that lovely islands, the scenery is well being captured some more times; it´s wlways a pleasure to have a look at such a perfect picture and a very moody scenery, (have seen a similiar one today in the morning on another platform taken by another good photographer!)

How do you get such moments, man? I believe you prepare all day for the sunset and when the sun begins to get on its way down you take the camera and run...Just beautiful, the colors, the landscape, all of it.

Que paz y que belleza transmiten estas fotos, la composicion es soberbia y el color no encuentro ni adjetivos para cuantificar su efecto, bellisimo coloreando la hierba, jugando con las gamas de amarillos-anaranjados del cielo. Muy bien hecha.

he vuelto de vacaciones y debo ponerme al día en mis críticas. Mirando en tu interesante galería me he fijado en esta foto. Evidentemente ya en la miniatura se aprecia tu estilo, tu gran tratamiento de la luz y de los colores, y tu gran ojo para captar la belleza de los paisajes en esos momentos mágicos del atardecer.
La composición y el efecto de los rayos del sol son magníficos.
