Hello Danos,
Wow, this church at the end of the peninsula has its private jetty. Beautiful with the white stairs climbing up the rocky shoreline. Of course this white church shines entirely in the mid of the blue Aegean sea and immediately surrounded by the arid island vegetation.
You looked for an excellent POV to have a view over the walls so we can see the entrance of the church.
The high mountains of an other island (or perhaps the mainland) on the horizon are a beautiful backdrop.

Hello dear Danos,
Those othodox churches in the Aegean are allways wonderfull onjects for every photographer.
The dominant white painting (sometimes decorated with some yellow and blue paints) are allways perfect elements of th compo surrounded with the nice Aegean blue.
Again you've submitted a perfect TE entry with many interesting and usefull notes.

Ciao Danos
in questo inverno abbastanza freddo un bel viaggio alle Cicladi cistarebbe bene, soprattutto se la meta è questa isola e questo luogo in particolare, invantevole per il bruno delle rocce, l'azzurro intenso del mare, ma soprattutto per poter vedere questa bianca costruzione che è un invito alla serenità che sicuramente non manca al suo interno.
Oggi hai proposto una bella foto nella quale non mancano i contrasti forti e forse per questo ancor più piacevole.

το ακρωτήρι φαίνεται υπέροχο από ψηλά η εκκλησία με τα άλλα λευκά κτίσματα κοντά της ξεχωρίζουν με τη λάμψη του λευκού και τη απλότητα και χάρη της αρχιτεκτονικής τους. Hello Danos - What a charming view and a stunning setting for a monastery. I can believe that the monks felt very close to God in such an isolated, exposed and beautiful setting. Kalimera Danos,
a unique location to build a church, on a small peninsula.
The white edifice is in great contrast with the surrounding blue sea, and pic. has fine DOF while we see the far mountains on the horizon, which I believe is the Paros island( looked up on Google map).

Hi Danos,

This is certainly a very clear and well defined photo, I'm impressed that there is a distinct difference between the shades of blue. The lighting has been managed splendidly so as not to over-expose the highlights of the temple. The point of view and composition show not only the main subject, but it's standing in the surrounding environment. Great horizon placement and depth of field to keep everything in focus. Lovely work to include so many fine elements to this setting!

Ένα όμορφο μικρό μοναστήρι πάνω σε μια βραχώδη χερσόνησο, ένα από τα Κυκλάδων. Λευκή τοίχους έρχεται σε αντίθεση με το μπλε, σκούρο θάλασσα και τη σοβαρότητα των βράχων. Σε απόσταση μπορείτε να δείτε ένα άλλο νησί. Η εικόνα είναι καταπληκτική.

God created this beautiful rocky cape in Aegean Sea that inspited the architects of the era to honour Him by this lovely monastery sitting as a private chapel by the sea.
It shows its first magnitude over the greek-blue color for a piece of fine-arts museum!

Η απόλυτη ηρεμία και γαλήνη. Το εκκλησάκι δημιουργεί τέλεια αντίθεση με το μπλε της θάλασσας. Αυτό που αρέσει ιδιαίτερα είναι τα σκαλάκια που κατεβαίνουν στην θάλασσα, σε δελεάζουν για μια βουτιά.

Marvelous photo. The perfectly lighted white monastery is the main focal point of this photo. There is a great use of depth of field to hold the viewer in the monastery as well as mountains in the remote background, and the excellent lighting conditions have allowed for very good color saturation. The overall impact is very strong. Very well done.

A wonderful saturated blue sky and deep blue cyan sea. Good sharpness and a superb high pov. The distant mountain range on the horizon adds depth and interest. A good exposure on the white highlights of the old stone monastery. I like the steps leading down to the sea at left. Tfs!

Classic Greek Island landscape, with that deep blue see and blue sky, accompany wiht he white walls, standout so well in the landscape. Levely POV from up here, allowing a sweeping view of landscape beyond as well. Excellent quality photo as always.
