Crowded Island, a photo from Kyklades, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

Hi there!
Today I was cleaning my room and I found my camera in the wardrobe. It was lying there since last holidays.
I thought it would be nice to browse the pictures and maybe start the adventure with Trekearth once again!!

So here I am :)

For the beginning a picture from very popular place - Santorini.
Many people says that this Island is one of the most beautiful... Maybe.. but for sure not in the holidays!

The thing I didn't like very much was the crowd - taking pictuers was not so easy, I had to wait few minutes to have clear, uninhabited view.
The second think I didn't enjoyed was the light - every building on this island is white and light is reflecting from every surface - I have to admin that my eyes are very sensitive and I didn't feel so good there.
But although those minuses I have to admit that Santorini is a very original Island with beautiful Architecture and breathtaking views. I think it would be a pleasure to visit it in October when the tourism becomes "calm".

A title that shows the reality surrounding this beautiful image of tranquility. I like the crop below the horizon to get plenty of sea blue in. Lovely textures on the sea surface too.

Cześć Sewciu, mam nadzieje, ze tym razem zagościsz na TE na troche dlużej. Santorini to raj dla fotografa, kazde miejsce prosi sie o zdjecie. Niestety, wiele osób mysli tak samo i wszędzie mnóstwo ludzi. ale tak jest głównie w Oia, wystarczy wziąć samochód (wynająć) i gdzies odjechać i juz jest mniej ludzi lub pusto. Na TE zdjęcia sa głównie stąd, akto był w Akrotiri, gdzie sa wspaniałe wykopaliska? ja zresztą tez niestety nie byłam, ale troche pojeździłam po wyspie, niestety to bylo dawno temu, kiedy nie robilam zdjęć.
Tu bardzo efektownie to wygląda, błękitne niebo, białe mury, jakies okienko nie wiadomo dokąd. Super.

you bring up many good points.
First of all, i have an acutual eye condition where i'm super sensitive to light, which required surgery a few years back - so that bright white light you mentioned would certainly bother me too!

and the crowds...not a fan of that either. October would sound great!

love the simplicity of the compostion. the joining of the lines and colors.

Una foto veramente bella per composizione e per i colori.

Dawno mnie u Ciebie nie by³o... Widzê, ¿e "dzia³asz", super!. W tym roku, jak mi napisa³e¶, widoków ma morze nie mia³e¶ ;) ale w zesz³ym widzê, ¿e by³ wypas :). Wracaj±c na ¶cie¿kê "krytyki", uwielbiam takie minimalistyczne kadry z tamtejszych klimatów.
