Photographer's Note
Of course, the villages hanging on the edge of the caldera (Oia, Imerovigli, Firostefani, Fira) are really spectacular, but if you ever go to Santorini, you should not miss the less famous and less touristic villages of the inland. Some of them (f.e. Pyrgos, Empoureios, Foinikia) are really beautiful and with some excellent examples of traditional architecture, especially in their old neighborhoods.
This photo is taken in the old part of Pyrgos, which in fact was a "Castelli", one of the 5 small castles built by the Venetians in Santorini, up on a hill. There wasn't much space on the hill, so the locals found some nice "solutions" with arches, galleries and narrow staircases.

Merhaba Giritli, you display the most hidden beauties of Santorini with your recent posts. Apparently, the locals skilfully use the narrow space in an optimal way.

Cramped space is a good description, but also indivualism, judging from the different colours used, a splendid combination well framed.

Hello Hercules,
Beauty often is in a small corner. Like here.
Great POV to show us both stairs that look completely different but that come together right at your feet. The walls are also painted in a different colour. Further there are some beautiful details like the vase with the red flowers and the lantern that make a more complete image.
Best regards, Paul
