Photographer's Note

The little church of Theotokaki lies within the castle walls of the hill top town of Pyrgos on the picturesque volcanic island of Santorini, Greece. It is one of the oldest churches on the island and is reached by climbing the narrow streets of the beautiful old town. This is the narrow alleyway that leads to the back of the church, beautifully kept and painted in traditional Greek colours.

Brian, this is beautiful.. I never knew there were so many shades of blue...you could just as well have titled this one `Blue' :) beautiful control over the light..so simple and yet so perfect...

Always a pleasure to discover your nice and cared shots. After having seen my last post, you guess that I like much this kind of compositions. A beautiful combination of colors and forms which attracts our eye on the least details of our environment. Very important the blue door in the composition according to me. We may interpret it like an invitation to look.

Thanks for your kind words, Brian.
Your Sony sensor succeded beautifully the difficult test of extreme contrast, showing subtle details at both ends of spectrum....and of course, the vivid Greek skies could'nt resist adding thier blue cast allover this magnificent tableau.
