This little pink church is nestled in the back streets of Oia in Santorini, Greece. This picturesque town, which lies at the northern tip of the volcanic island, has an abundance of churches, but nearly all are painted blue and white so this one is a little unusual.

Sorry I've not been very active here on TE over the festive season but we've been quite busy!

This is yet another of your fine pictures from your beloved Santorini which you capture so very well and this one is no disappointment. The tiny church is lit by the most lovely soft light and the oblique lighting has lit up the very edges of the typically Greek belltower, making it stand out beautifully against the clear deep blue sky.

Your composition is very satisfying, the colours are delightful, the exposure perfect and, as always, details and sharpness are superb.

Really, a delightful little church. The salmon pink tones contrast beautifully with the whitewashed wall and the heavenly blue sky. A very well realised image making good use of the vertical frame.

Hi Brian,

As much as I enjoy the blue & white color combinations from these islands, I absolutely love when a stronger (albeit pastel) color is presented. It's a refreshing take from the traditional. This salmon colored facade, along with the hint of yellow from the structure behind the hillside, really stands out nicely. Such clarity and sharp detail throughout the entire scene, and the light management is wonderful. Thanks for sharing a different look at this village.

I like this small pink chapel, which is outlined between the white walls and the deep blue sky.
The light is very well managed, and you have reached a high chromatic quality. The composition has a nice structure, because of a good framing. Excellent work.
