An outside view of one of the many sophisticated art galleries that can be found in the winding streets of the town of Oia on the island of Santorini, Greece. Naturally, they offer views of the iconic buildings of this little jewel of an island, set in the Aegean Sea, as well as more conventional works of art.

Mmm, I would like that f/g picture on my staircase!

Oh, I digress, this is a fine subject and very well composed on a diagonal across the vertical frame. It is a sharp exposure and very subtly lit.

There are always gems to find when you are on holiday. You have a knack for seeing them.

A good point of view on these attractive modern paintings; the style is not exactly to my taste but they have a certain charm. Fine colours and excellent sharpness.

Wonderful composition and balance of light and colour in the photograph. The clarity and the level of saturation is optimum and enhances the beauty of the picture. The light background does help to accentuate the effect. The typical Santorini scenery in two green frames are appropriately arranged. The angular / tilt is another aspect of the composition that is really effective.

Very nice scene from the little art gallery, I like the colorful painting on the easel in the foreground. I like poppies very much, I would buy this painting ;)))

Hello Brian,
You have captured the artworks very well with soft shaded light and a strong diagonal composition. The sharpness and colours are perfect and you have certainly " put us in the picture" with regard to the destination Oia.

You've framed this wonderfully, Brian - a really nice progression. The woodgrain of the two paintings in the shutters and the one in the window frame fit together nicely, and they're complemented by the real shutter behind them; the colors are nicely muted as well, standing out without overwhelming the eye. Thanks for this one!

Hello Brian,

And so back to your beloved Santorini! And with good reason too.

This is a lovely "detail" shot of a quiet corner of Oia, the two pictures on the left almost being mirror images of scenes which you yourself have shot here. And a quite different scene of a poppy field on the right which, with its brilliant reds and yellows, balances your photograph perfectly.

The paintings in their frames and on the easel stand out because of their vibrant colours against the softer colours of the background very nicely. As always, technically perfect with perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.
