Windmills of Mykonos, a photo from Kyklades, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

Tomorrow morning, I leave for a few days at my home in the Sierra de Gredos, after Easter I'll be back with you all, I wish you all a happy period.

Mykonos town, notable for the beauty and magic of its narrow, winding streets, picturesque houses whitewashed, the flowers that adorn their balconies and corners with colorful flowers, bows, fashion boutiques alternating everywhere.

The church of the Blessed Virgin Paraportiani that, according to tradition, is the most important of the 400 churches and chapels scattered throughout the small island.

At the bottom is called Little Venice of Mykonos. It is the most picturesque village with its houses built overlooking the sea, with beautiful wooden balconies. These houses have become the most curious bars of the island. In a square near the cathedral is an ancient Catholic Church.

Very close to these, on a large square viewpoint, are the famous windmills, here in this picture you can see the magnificent silhouettes that dominate the bay.

Mañana temprano, me marcho por unos días a mi casa, en la sierra de Gredos, después de Semana Santa de nuevo estaré con todos vosotros, os deseo a todos unos felices días.

Mykonos pueblo, destaca por la belleza y magia de sus callejuelas estrechas y laberínticas, casas pintorescas encaladas, las flores que adornan sus balcones y rincones con flores multicolores, sus arcos, las boutiques de moda que se alternan por doquier.

Destaca la iglesia de la Santísima Virgen Paraportiani que, según la tradición, es la más importante de las 400 iglesias y ermitas dispersas en toda la pequeña isla.

En la parte baja se encuentra la llamada pequeña Venecia de Mykonos. Es la zona más pintoresca del pueblo, con sus casas construidas asomadas sobre el mar, con preciosos balcones de madera. Estas casas se han convertido en los más curiosos bares de copas de la isla. En una plaza cercana se encuentra la catedral y una antiquísima iglesia católica.

Muy cercanos a estas, sobre una gran plaza mirador, se encuentran los famosos molinos de viento, aquí en esta imagen podéis ver sus magníficas siluetas que dominan toda la bahía.

Hola Luis,
rompo el orden de mis críticas para llegar a tiempo antes de que os vayáis a La Adrada a pasar la Semana Santa.
Un buen encuadre para recoger la belleza de estos molinos de viento, su elegante alineación, su arquitectura blanca, y su magnífico contraste con el cielo azul, gracias a un buen ángulo visual hacia arriba.
La luz y los colores son vivos y dan un atractivo muy especial al conjunto.
Son unos molinos muy interesantes, pero bastante distintos a los que vemos en La Mancha.
Un bello trabajo, amigo mío.
Os deseamos unas felices vacaciones, que disfrutéis y descanséis un montón, nosotros nos iremos el lunes a Andorra.

toujours dans cette mouvance de bleus et de blancs typiquement grecs, avec des moulins comme on voit aussi au Portugal.
Et 4 en ligne en plus, ou presque en ligne.
Une photo intéressante pour son POV en contre plongée et ses excellentes lumières.

Hola Luis,

A very well composed shot of horizontal layers which lead naturally into the shot.
The windmills, with their reducing size, create a good sense of perspective and, with their sails, an inferred movement.
Crisp, light and well-saturated, natural colours.

Une image classique de cette belle place, mais tu as réussi quelque chose de spécial: n'avoir personne dans l'image même en plein jour , ce qui est exceptionnel.Un point de vue au ras du sol qui donne une belle ampleur à l'ensemble.

Fantastic old windmills and a perfect composition, Luis.
The blue bright sky gave a fabulous decor to the location, and light managed well.
My oppinion on wind-energy is known - we have yet to learn how people in older era knew how to exploit this natural resource.
