Natural rocky harbour Photo

Photographer’s Note

A small natural "harbour" very close to Fyriplaka. Fyriplaka is IMHO one of the most beautiful beaches, among the more than 70 beaches of Milos. It's on the south shore of the island, it's a sandy beach, crystal clear waters and an amazing background of colourful rocks. You' ll see a photo of it in the near future.

Hi Hercules,

watching your pictures I often guess how you can always obtain so perfect results. Surely there's a great ability in taking it. Do you apply a lot of PP too? Great colors, very good composition.

What a great shot, where we you when taking this shot? The Colour and sharpness are indeed brilliant.

The vast surroundings makes those Boats almost like a miniature object and to a certain extent those boats give us an idea of the scale of the landscape that you've captured so well.

Greece is such a Beautiful place! Thanks for sharing this beauty...

This is a great shot of the sea scape and boats. The boats seem to be suspended in thin air giving the photo a 3-D effect. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

The POV is great. It makes these boats look like they are floating on air because of the crystal clear water. My only critique would br that speck of white on the strip of rock on the left. I don't know what it is but it is distracting. I think I would clone it out.

Such beautiful pictures and sea and rock I cannot produce in this part of the world, you are a real master in this art. I seldom see, that the water is so clear as in your pictures. I truly like the clarity of your sea, the contrasts of the rocks and the sky - it's like magic. And then these three boats just adding a special note to your shot. I agree with Papagolf that Nature is an inexhaustible resource. However, it takes an eye like yours to capture it -- and a certain amount of luck, as in the way the colors of the boats reinforce the natural colors so beautifully. A wonderful image. Thank you.

I have the impression that the boats float in the air on this photograph, water is so clear !!! The colors are, once moreover, marvellous. Very good framing which gives a balance to the image that I appreciate much. Contrasts foreground/background are astonishing. Very pleasant to look at, thank you Hercules.

I like this high-saturated colours, it's very strong but natural. Mellow tone of red and blue created an excellent harmony. The composition with rhythm is also supreme.

Hercules this one is FANTASTIC! The CPL really lets the water be transparent and the colors are just awesome. The lines of the channel and all the irregularities of the shape of the stone make for a fine composition.
