Firopotamos,Milos

In northern of Milos, 4km. north-east of Plaka,the capital of island,is found one of the most shot landscapes in Aegean,a small gulf, that entertains the graphic fish village of Firopotamos.

Firopotamos entertains one from the better beaches of island and it is a graphic small port built round a natural creek with green all around waters that promise unforgettable moments of beauty and recreation.

In the creek of Firopotamos, exist also sirmata :the small lodges in which are looked after the boats of at the Wintry period and which, the summertimes, the householders use as Summer rural residences.

Φυροπόταμος Μήλου

Στο βόρειο άκρο της Μήλου, 4χλμ. βορειοανατολικά της Πλάκας, της πρωτεύουσας του νησιού, βρίσκεται ένα από τα πιο πολυφωτογραφημένα τοπία στο Αιγαίου, ένας μικρός κόλπος, που φιλοξενεί το γραφικό ψαροχώρι του Φυροποτάμου.

Ο Φυροπόταμος φιλοξενεί μια από τις καλύτερες παραλίες του νησιού και είναι ένα γραφικό λιμανάκι κτισμένο γύρω από ένα φυσικό κολπίσκο με καταπράσινα νερά που υπόσχονται αξέχαστες στιγμές ομορφιάς και αναψυχής.

Στον κολπίσκο του Φυροποτάμου, υπάρχουν και τα περίφημα σύρματα :τα μικρά σπιτάκια μέσα στα οποία φυλάγονται οι βάρκες κατά τη χειμερινή περίοδο και τα οποία, τα καλοκαίρια, οι ιδιοκτήτες χρησιμοποιούν για θερινές κατοικίες.

This is a nicely composed shot with the pier leading the eye into the shot. The blue water is great and is the big star of this shot. The boat adds a nice point of interest in the foreground of the shot. The lighting and colors are fine as is the photo's sharpness.

Really an emerald water!
A place where to have a fine bath in summer or dine maybe in a taverna....
You found a very good light which enhances the colour of the sea. Fine perspective and depth given by this small pier and the small boat is just what it needed as a fine and interesting focal point.

The dots are leading my eyes toward the houses which is giving depth to the composition. The prsence of the person has an effect of scale. The reflection of the light on the water has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

The glimmering turquoise of varying shades really makes this image shine.
The old cement pier leads the eye nicely towards the beach and rugged hills.

La couleur de l'eau est bien ce qui frappe dès qu'on voit cette photo. La barque et la jetée donnent des couleurs vives qui font ressortir encore plus la couleur de l'eau.

Wonderful waters, you are right.

What I like the best of this picture is its composition, including the pier, the boat, the man and the colour full houses in the background. Little bit saturated, textures and lights are also good.
