Photographer's Note

A windy backstreet that typifies the village of Emporio on the island of Santorini, Greece. Emporio is the largest village on the volcanic island and dates from medieval times when the inhabitants used to build their houses side by side, so that they could protect themselves against the pirates. Hence negotiating its narrow streets and alleyways can sometimes be a bit of a tight squeeze, but also very worthwhile as it is beautifully picturesque and truly captivates the imagination.

Hello Brian,
This quiet backstreet makes for an interesting study in light and shade. The azure blue sky makes a great backdrop for the whitewashed walls. Very good sharpness.

Hi Brian,
This picture of a white building and a depp blue sky has some well placed accents of green too. The interactions between light and shadows are also very pleasant here.

I'm surprised this photo isn't doing better for you in terms of points...i personaly think its worth alot more.
such difficult lighting conditions...so much shadow, so much light. also the colors and contrasted sharply too.
love the rustic textures along the walls, and the sharp corner on the main building.
