The Little Church Garden, a photo from Kyklades, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

A little rock garden just outside the wall of one of the many iconic and pristine little isolated churches that are scattered all over the Greek islands. Across the path is yet another little church this one being fairly plain and simple with a whitewashed breeze block wall. Both churches lie down a narrow dirt track just on the outskirts of the village of Akrotiri which is in the southern half of the volcanic island of Santorini. Each has a commanding view of the sea and the small islands of Christiana.

Hello Brian,
I like the lighting and the colours here. The image is well framed and makes good use of the vertical format. The church in the background is really quite charming. I have never been to the Greek islands, apart from a day trip to Aegina from Athens, and that probably doesn't count. Must put them on my bucket list.

in questa foto hai colto un soggetto un po' diverso dai soliti per l'elemento moderno che caratterizza la chiesetta, ma i colri sono sempre quelli della Grecia fatti di contrasti violenti e di luce viva come sa offrire questa terra.
Berllo il contrasto oltre che con il cielo di un azzurro intenso, anche con le pietre e i ciuffi d'erba e di fiori che ravvivano l'immagine.
SEmpre buono nitidezza, e contrasto

Nicely composed shot full of colour. Did you take this early morning - the sun isn't yet shining as brightly as I would expect in Greece! Sharp definition and good use of the sky as negative space.

quelle église blanche superbe et ce cadrage en hauteur avec le chemin qui nous y mène et ce contraste du blanc et du bleu, le clocher est merveilleux quelle forme on voit les cloches.

too bad this photo hasn't gained more in the way of points for you, i think its deserving of it.
it may not be the classic Greek island photo's that we usually see, but in a way it is...we've got the whites, the blues, and the crystal blue sky.
the white rock wall is new for me though.
lovely photo full of life and color.
