Photographers Note
A typical scene from the wonderfull Greek island Symi.
Many houses there are twin houses (like here). Which means the left and right parts of the houses can have different owners.
And according to their buying power, one half can be renovated and kept perfectly, whereas the other half remains in a poor conditionÜ; like here.
But another reason is also the never ending fight between traditionalists and modernists; which is also one of the major reasons of that look.

Good morning my dear friend Mesut
It's true those semidetached houses have traditionally been a cause of disagreement between owners. It's even worse when they belong to different political parties and they give different color, too :)
Have a good day and TFS

Merhaba, dear Mesut!
Excellent architecture photo of a beautiful "split" house! Great framing and composition and fabulous colours. this happens sometimes when two brothers (for example) and one brother wants to keep the house the way it was, while the other wants to "modernize" it!
Warm regards,
Hercules

Hi Mesut,
An interesting and, in a certain way, quite funny picture. But we never learn what´s behind the differences here, or who is the most happy owner. Probably a lot of money invested in the left half, but I see flowers and a green hedge at the right part...
Kind regards
Gunnar

Sevgili Hocam,

Hello Mesut,
It will be interesting to see how long the house on the right remains unchanged. It is also interesting to see that the modernised house has lost some of the architectural details of the stone facade beside it.
A clear and colourful shot of the marvellous architecture of Symi - against that blue, blue sky!
Best wishes....Maggie

Hello Mesut,
I like this duality
before - after
old - new,
color - black and white
rich - poor ....

An interesting post, and something I have not seen before. This must cause some jealousy from the neighbors :) I always enjoy your subject choices. TFS

Dear Mesut,
your photo and note, truely matches the spirit of TE. I never knew the reason of this half new half old thing until I read your comment. I thought its an construction work in progress.
Thanks for the education.
Cheers,
Satyakki
